Just watched Simmo's press conference

All but declared redden a certain starter next week. Also conceded they should have given him some games in the WAFL to begin with to build his confidence rather than playing him straight away

Jetta has to go. Forget the possession count - he is jogging into space and not in a bulls roar of being an AFL effective player. Additionally, he looks like he has lost the trust of his team mates. He is on the outer at the huddles, when he is open, players seem to discount heavily his leads and do not want to pass to him. I watched him intently today and he jogs to the contest, makes token leads at kick-in, arms up for the lead but not giving a credible lead. There were a few not at their peak today. Hutchings, Hill and Le Cras (1st half) come to mind.

In: Redden - got to reward WAFL form and he stepped up.
In: Nelson - thought he was tough to miss out today.

Out: Jetta
Out: Le Cras (won't happen unfortunately)

Out: McGinnity
In: Redden

B: Barrass, Schofield, Butler
HB: Hurn, McGovern, Sheppard
C: Gaff, Priddis, Masten
HF: Cripps, Darling, Hill
F: LeCras, Kennedy, Brown
R: Lycett, Shuey, Yeo
I: Wellingham, Jetta, Redden, Hutchings
E: MacKenzie, Nelson, McGinnity (travelling)

McGinnity unlucky. Hutchings has more runs on the board, plus next week is his 50th.

Sheed gets an extra week's match practice at EP. Not sure we can keep playing all of Gaff/Hill/Masten/Jetta. Still think the best thing for Jetta is to keep playing him until he finds some confidence and form, so far we've only got flashes.

Thought about Giles in for Brown but if we didn't play him against Goldstein they won't make the change this week.

Out : McGinnity, Jetta
In : Redden, Nelson
Giles for Lycett if he gets a week. Brown very lucky.

Hill had no influence? Are you high?!

Na mate I'm not high. Settle.

Hill had 9 disposals at 55% efficiency. Also 3 clangers & no score. Only thing you can say is he had 7 tackles.

I really like Hill but I think it was a bad decision to play him so soon after being ill.

He was so quiet today I had to keep checking if he was on the bench.

I'm dirty on what jets has brought to the club so far, but this guy went for 19 points or so before he kicked his first goal for Sydney. He will improve us from last year as will Redden but they have to know they will get dropped if they don't give 110%. Hutch and Hill to go back for me.

Do poster think Jetta has come home for a pension or he really wants to earn his spot. What I have seen in the last 2 games looks like he is going through the motions. I liked the trade at the time but I was not expecting Jetta to be in the mode of getting a home pension. I believe the club needs to set performance standards. It is not about past performances nor is it about potential. It is about doing the non-negotiable.

The win was great today but we did not have a great team performance. There were a some Eagles (not sitting in block 134) that were looking for the easy up-grade Virgin trip today.

just send him back to WAFL for the rest of the year (or unless he gets 25+ touches and boots 1-2 goals a game on a regular basis) We don't really have any issues with our outside players as our two main wingmen in gaff or Masten.

In: Redden, Nelson

Out: Hutch and Hill.

Big fan of both the outs but they were ineffective today and there is huge competition for spots. Feel like they have told Jetta he has an extended run in the side and to not fear getting dropped...i'm not mad if they give him a couple more

Out: Jetta, Lycett (prob susp)
In: Redden, Giles

Jetta could almost be a write off for the year unless he blazes it at East Perth for a few weeks. He just needs to run and put himself in good positions consistently, otherwise he really is just taking up space. At this stage of the season, he's had plenty of chances. Haven't lost complete faith in him for the future, ala what we saw with Wellingham in his first couple of seasons, and Simmo has said he's been doing his best around the club to improve and all that, but I think he's had a fair crack and is just plainly out of form/whatever.

Hutch was borderline, but has put in over the course of the year. I'm sure he'll be aware that he's on the edge, and may make way for Sheed in another week or two anyway.

Time to get serious now, we can't afford to lose another game.

In:
Mackenzie, Redden and Lamb

Out:
Hill, Jetta and Hutchings
So what exactly will Mackenzie be doing in this magical 4 tall defender backline?

Possible exclusions = Jetta, Hutchings, Hill (to some extent), Lycett (suspenson? who knows these days?)

To me the effort was there with Hill, but he looked very underdone. Jetta however was one and done in every contest, absolutely gave up after he gave his half effort, there was no second efforts at all. He looks ridiculously unfit and out of tune. Hutchings just looked helpless with the ball in hand, stupid decision making.

Possible players to come back = Giles (if Lycett is gone), Redden, Sheed, Duggan, Nelson

So we have some fit midfielders, only Redden will come in I think. Simpson wont make too many changes, Redden has forced his way back and rightfully so. He can be a straight swap for either of Jetta or Hutch.

If they want to run a tag then I'd keep Hutch for that, plus he has more runs on the board than Jetta who has 0.

OUT: Hutchings (Omit) & Lycett (Susp)
IN: Redden & Giles

Hutchings unlucky - Redden doing exactly what is asked in the 2's & Hutch was down. Spots should be under high pressure now.

Jetta showed more today also, great intent, running to right places. Could carve the Blues up on Sunday.

And to the posters who want Hill omitted, every ****ing week..

To them I say:

Thought about Giles in for Brown but if we didn't play him against Goldstein they won't make the change this week.

simmo said something interesting in the presser about how they viewed giles as more of a first ruck (and brown a second ruckman) which is why they didn't bring jono in when nic went down. (i'm putting words in his mouth a little bit here but that was the gist of it... )

every chance we'll see a giles/brown combination next week.

Don't think we'll see nelson in this week as he was the non-playing emergency.

Redden, sheed and Duggan the best chance to be promoted in that order

Hutchings, Jetta and mcginnity the most likely to be dropped in no particular order other than to say I doubt there'll be that many unforced changes

Giles to come in if the Matthews stitch up succeeds and Lycett gets done

Out: Hutch and Hill.

You may be right about what they told Jetta, that would explain why he strolled around barely putting in an effort. I hope you're wrong.
