Amazingly, we have absolutely no injuries right now meaning that the selectors have some tough decisions.

Today for the first time in ages we used a two ruck policy successfully and I think that we will go with this into the finals.

Players in the VFL that IMO could come in are: Sidebottom, Goldsack, Clarke, Nathan Brown and Rocca.

Players in the seniors that IMO could be dropped are: Dick, Wellingham and Leigh Brown.

If Rocca is going to come into the side again then he really must be played next week. I have been a strong supporter for Rocca however if I was Mick I would tell Rocca that his only chance of getting in is if there are mass injuries in the next few weeks *touch wood*

There are many possibilities for changes. Mick said in his post match interview that he will be using a horses for courses policy. We know the bulldogs do not have a tall forward line so if I was selecting the teams tonight I would do the following:

Ins: Sidebottom, Goldsack
Outs: Wellingham, L Brown

In: Sidebottom, Goldsack
Out: Dick, L Brown

Dick looked awful today imo, despite two goals. I think he fumbled nearly everything he touched, he looked way off. I'm a big fan of his, but I wasn't impressed with what I saw today.

L Brown - played an alright game today, good by his standards. No match ups for him this week though.

IN: Sidebottom
OUT: Dick

Keep Brown in and use him up forward IMO. Trav, Anthony, Fraser/Wood and Brown up forward to try to stretch the Dogs defence.

In: Sidebottom (60 stats and 22 tackles in 2 weeks:eek:), Clarke

Out: Wellingham, Davis/Pendlebury (both players carrying slight injuries?)

Steele has to come in, we have to give him at least 1 more game this year, if he steps up, play him in finals, he is our future. Marty needs a shot too, and Wellingham looked poor today.

As for the other out, with a probable 6 day break to the Geelong final, rest either Leon or Pendles who seem the most effected by the long season.

I don't want to "rest" more then 1 or 2, can't flirt with form.

Agree with this. Couldn't get over how much dick fumbled today.

should we take the risk of resting any players.
no

seeing as BF says that is too short No, play your best team dont flirt with form and win the match

In: McCarthy (If not cursed with injury, he could be something special, so is worth one last punt for this year)

Out: Dick ( Hate to drop Brad, as I think he will be great in a few years time, but his light frame might be a problem in the rough and tumble of finals)

Other than that we might want to rest a midfielder next week. If so, bring in Sidebottom

No, we can't afford to flirt with form, anyway most of our players have had injuries during the year, so it's not as if every player has played 21 games straight...

In: Sidebottom
Out: Dick

I can't see any other changes, L.Brown needs to play on their resting ruck Hudson/Minson, whilst Dick was very poor today...

I'll add some explanations to my changes of
Ins: Sidebottom, Goldsack
Outs: Wellingham, L Brown

Firstly the ins are pretty obvious. Sidebottom is on fire. The sack was great yesterday and is a much better fit for the dogs than L Brown. Leroy was very good today but we just don't need him.

I did think of dropping Dick however he got better as the game went on and IMO he is very important to our structure. Having Dick in the team allows Leon, Thomas and Didak to play in other areas of the ground. We then have x-factor everywhere on the ground. Plus having the two smalls in Dick and Medhurst roaming our forwards is very dangerous, even with Medhurst not at 100%.

I don't think Wellingham played very well either. Wellingham has been excellent in patches however his challenge at the moment is to become consistent. He is odd actually. He never really excelled at VFL level but when given an opportunity he was at home with the extra intensity and speed of the seniors and was great. I get the feeling though that if he isn't 100% on his game then he can go missing. He needs to work on this IMO.

Rusty in is a chance. Probably in for Dick who looked a bit shaky... but did kick two.

I'd like to see him have a go from a forward pocket. Did alright in the TAC Grand Final last year up forward, maybe we should give him a go there before finals.

I'll have another go;

IN: STEELE SIDEBOTTOM

Out: Wellingham.

Rusty has to play, MM keeps going on about how if you play well at VFL level on a consistent basis you get a game. He has had 60 possessions and 22 tackles in the last 2 weeks, cmon, how much more does the kid have to do.

I want to see Beams and Sidebottom together one more time this year, even if Steele doesnt play finals, because it is a partnership that is tantalising for the future.

Bring him in, now.:thumbsu:

I can't believe how many people have Leigh Brown as an out.

Need we be reminded of how Anthony was pantsed by Lake last time out? He needs a chop out. And Cloke will play further up the ground to get Hargrave out of the way.

Also, add in the fact, that Brown was very, very good today!

Well, he wasn't, but he also wasn't awful so that's a plus.

Is N.Brown fit? If so he's an auto in for leroy. Better forward, better back.

Sidey for Dick is a no brainer and I can't believe no one's brought up half pace Johnson. I'd like Marty in for him but 3 changes is probably too many

No way I'd drop Wellingham... I thought he was ok today. He has pace and the Dogs are a quick side...
Would possibly drop Dick for Sidey but would like to keep changes to the minimum..

Probably too late for Ben Reid to come in to the team this season. So i would like either N Brown or Goldsack to replace L Brown. Sidebottom must also be close to getting back in.
