Let's not. He is a ruckman who can drift forward for a goal or two, not a permanent or semii-permanent forward.

Smacks of 2006 to play him a lot in the forward line.

And as for "extra ruck option", I don't understand why we would need three in the first place.

We don't. Never have and never will.

Seriously, to anyone who suggests playing Ottens as a forward - have you been watching the last 2 years? Starting with round 6 last season when Ottens returned from injury against Richmond, he's played 31 games, all as a ruckman. We've won 30 of them. Anyone else notice how much better we've looked since the Carlton win in round 10? Who played his first game for the season that night? Ottens.

He is a ruckman. He is not a forward, and aside from the odd rest, should never be considered as one. This is not the time to start screwing around with what is clearly working.
