I'll no doubt get some flak for this thought, but........given what Danger was giving us before he was injured and given what Symes has given us lately, I'd be hard pressed to select Danger ahead of Symes at present. (If I happened to be a selector of course :o)
I do think Danger will be the much better player in the long run.

No flak from me. It's already difficult choosing outs, but wait till Bock and Birdman are up and running again. Now that's when it will be cruel choosing someone to miss out....but what a fantastic position to be in.

If Mackay and Rodney are going to play a part in the finals (which surely they are), both have to come in this weekend (assuming they're right to go), to get form and fitness.

It's a no-brainer.

Buggered if I know who makes way though..

From the snippets i heard, i didn't gather NC wanted to pick him but i've obviously not heard everything...i hope you're right and i hope he gets picked this week (now that Burton is still out)

I asked NC about it myself.

He also mentioned that there is an enormous weight of expectation on Walkers shoulders that is probably starting to effect him.

I recognise where your points are coming from, but from my perspective, i haven't yet rewatched the game, Symes had a few kicks that were difficult to tell if they were passes or shots on goal, but nethertheless he couldn't kick it 50 metres. He puts a lot of height on the ball when he kicks it. I think he could be more valuable to us in the centre getting the hard ball, possibly doing a tagging role, playing a bit of a linkman, but not playing forward of the 50 being our kicker into the 50 as he so often was.

EDIT: Good analysis by the way, i might need to have a look at the replay.
You realise that playing in the linkman role, he's going to occasionally find himself in range?

Just like on friday...

5AA just announced that Mackay and Dangerfield trained well and are up for selection. Do both get a game considering the strength of our side at the moment? Sloane might be unlucky despite a good first game and Craig's like of giving youngsters two games in a row. Otherwise? ...... Douglas. So:

In: Dangerfield and Mackay
Out: Douglas and Sloane

Probably what would happen, looks pretty simple really. Sloane has now had a taste for it and will hopefully build on it during his pre-season and come out firing in 2010. More interesting will be the week after if Burton comes up and Walker keeps pushing, IMO we only have room for one and that will be Bird, but then if Bock (doubtful) comes up, who's gonna go? Its hard to get into this crow team now.

I would like to see mackay cum back through the sanfl. he has been out for 4 weeks now, would like to see him come through sanfl like most players cuming back from injury.

I would like to see douglass stay in the side, he has alot of potential and is been played at of position, he is a midfielder not a forward poker off HFF. I would like to see danger cum in and take his spot and put douglass in the midfield and see wat happens.

Douglass was far from our worst on the wknd, i would rather other players get dropped before him. sloane would be nice to see him to play another game.

I see Douglas being dropped as he has been in and out of the team recently but saved due to injuries. 8 tackles was a fair effort though. Sloane showed a bit but not enough to keep Mackay/Danger out if their fit.

The only other option that I can think of is Otten being given a rest (he didn't look to be travelling well friday last week). In this case then perhaps Douglas gets the chance so show what he has got, perhaps he will win himself a finals spot.

Think you will find Burton will miss another week or two and very doubtful if Bock will realistically come up so the combinations or inclusions / exclusions will cause the selectors several migraines in the next two weeks !
