Changes for the next game

McGuane was good last night and one of the few players to hit a target :)

Jacko will probably be dropped for Joel and maybe Patto for Polak. I'd like to see Cogs back soon too :thumbsu:

McGuane wont be dropped. He had a low possesion game but good one. Excelent efficency and some great hard ball gets. He is safe.

And on effective disposals, i see Thirsty had another 100% game. Is he the leagues most effective footballer? He would be ours easy. He is a marvel:thumbsu:

You are either a blue haired, nanny knitting lady or Bruce using the word marvel.

In: Polak, Bowden
Out: Schulz, Jackson

Schulz - had a shocker last night and needs a game in the 2s to build some confidence.

Jackson - Shocking decision making kept halting our momentum going forward and poor disposal.

at the moment we're obviously a much improved side from 4 weeks ago and its important we keep playing the kids. they're all going to have an average week here and there but the efforts and results (although unfortunately not 4 points) are far better than that of recent times. we're heading in a good direction and all the young blokes should stay. would still consider bringing bowden back, his experience will be handy and could be used in a different role. the only bloke that should go out for him to come in is jackson. also polak provides a good target and allows richo to go up the ground more often. liking the look of our young backline and all of those blokes should remain!

I think some of you ppl are still stuck in your old ways! Why bring Bowden back when i believe our key defensive players are doing a great job.
and petts is just gunna have to wait cos untill the likes of edwards and morton stop doing the chasing and tackling he aint gunna get back in.

bowdens experience is a key, if he can bring some sort of defensive game into the team to add to his rebound he'll be a solid contributer

your right about petiffer. mortons provided a good option and is getting better each week and i thought edwards was good in patches last night, he can only get better! the twos is where pets remains!

Edwards wasn't good last night. He was gifted a goal by Jack Reiwoldt brilliance and the other fell into his lap. He did nothing after that and gave away a crucial holding the ball decision.

Jackson must be dropped no awareness and when tackled doesnt free his arms. Too long hand to foot when kicking costs him on the run too he must be dropped.

I think it is time for Joel to be brought back in he can play back or forward. I dont see the harm in trying with him back in the side particularly against Geelong where we can see if he has taken this month on board and hardened the ____ up

Its called pressure and 1%'s you fool.

Watch the game:rolleyes:

He will be playing against Geelong, no worries, unless he gets injured done nothing to get dropped.

But clearly you aren't much of a supporter going by you're signature and some of the shit you come out with

Geelong would be the perfect team to gauge how serious Pettifer and Bowden are about playing accountable football. They've had their time at Coburg and been told what they need to do. Bring them back in against one of the biggest bodied, hardest running teams in the comp and see if they've got their head right.

Could be a career defining game for both of them.

That said, apart from Jackson, I'm not sure who I'd drop at the moment.

at the moment it's another 12 Days until we play again, the Burgers play on saturday agianst the Collingwood second scums, some of our senior players may get dropped back to get some form.
I think that the match commitee will be looking v. hard at Collins and Cotchin as they have both been named as emergency in the last few weeks.
Either all get down to ABD on Sat or watch it on ABC and we will see who is challenging for spots in the senior side.
I agree Jacko will probably be the only change although i heard on SEN that thier were some injury clouds over Johnson and Delidio which is why they aren't picked for the hall of fame game.

1%ers lol..didn't see many. Ok Edwards fanboy. We'll see if he's in the side in 3 years.

Jackson was fine. We can't just go around dropping people after one game back, unless they get one touch and give away stupid frees etc. If Bowden has learnt his lesson, he should come in I guess for Jacko but that should be the only change.

Yes he should. I was in the crowd and everytime Jackson got the ball after his first few mistakes everyone held their breath. He was awful - in saying that i still think he could end up best 22 by the end of the year

honestly, some of the in's and outs i've seen are laughable - mcmahon and mcguane all deserve a spot in the side - pattison given a rest? and who the hell will be the 2nd ruckman?? don't even DARE say Polak - cos he has never done a decent job there

OUT: Jackson, Schulz - Both lacked polish and stood out like a sore thumb. Were caught "watching" several times, and let themselves be out positioned in one and ones with smaller players.

In: Bowden, Polak

Give Bowden a really hard test to prove himself - all good and well to stand up at VFL level - but a player of his seniority should be doing it against the best in the world - and geelong that is.

If Polak is fit - give him a go - if not, pettifer - lets not give petts an easy game to earn his way back in - won't be any cheap goals against geelong. if he puts in a shocker - send him back to coburg for at least a fortnight. if he plays a good match - tell him that if he can do it against geelong, he can do it every week.

Basically - lets put the heat on our 2 "senior" coburg fella's which have needed a kick in the ass. Lets give them the toughest senior game to earn their respect back. if they fail, they will know that their spot will be out straight away - and will miss the essendon blockbuster. with cotchin, JON, Hughes, Jackson, Schulz all chomping at the bit to earn a spot again - both Petts and Bowden will definitely feel the pressure - and if they don't react - bye bye.

i think best to give cotchin one more week for coburg. lets not rush him, play him against geelong and the kid could get beaten up and flogged in his first game. sime players react well to such things - but considering cotch is coming off a serious injury - best to leave him for the next week against essendon - and let him tear them a new one:D
