I agree we need EMac fit and firing, but he isn't the one who I would replace with Barrass.
I see EMac and Barrass as playing the same role. Schofield is a more negative player. The MC probably prefers the balance that Schofield provides.

I'm inclined to agree

Emac is a negating defender. kept hogans influence to a minimum on the weekend and was one of the best lockdown defenders a few years back. He also provided a bit of support in the air and a bit of rebound. Schofield isn't a great lockdown defender and he provides no rebound and is useless above his head.

The thing is though Schoey did alright last year, however he has dropped off this year probably caused by having to play a different role?

schoey has played the same (if not a similar role). He has just got complacent. Its probably the first time in his career that his position in the b22 has been set in stone.

i actually feel bad for will. he had to change his playing style totally to fill holes in the past few years and hasn't been asked to play to his strengths in that time. even if he wanted to run and swerve he'd be carrying too much mass to be effective for long.

and if we decided to move him on, his next pay day will be reflected as a third string backman who could take a year or more to change his body shape and rediscover the tank and touch to play elsewhere.

not an ideal situation for will but he's been a professional throughout and sacrificed for his team... only to cop shit on here from quite a many.

No, I think he moved away from that in 2014. He played last line but became less responsible for a man and more of an aerial threat that provides rebound. Not penetrating rebound, but rebound nevertheless. Negative defenders don't average 15.3 disposals and 7.2 marks a game.

Schofield is more of a lockdown defender.

Got a good feeling about this game.
Reckon we will win by 36+.

I thought we lose to Adelaide and struggle against Melbourne so see if I'm right about this one.

You've been a strong supporter of Tunbridge for many years...make or break time now.

Hopefully he can provide a spark because we need out mid tier to lift.

He's got great attributes in terms of size, pace and disposal. When on song he man handles situations. Just never brought it all together and injuries have curtailed any chance of him doing that.

I'm glad they're giving him a shot. Play to AFL standard or move him on IMO.

Absolutely he played 3 good quarters in Round 2 last year and has been solid for East Perth last month or so. Hope he plays a good game.

Nope.

Not after Simmo saying only 2-3 weeks ago that Barrass was playing so well he was keeping EMac out of the team. And he has only got better since then.

Agree that it is strange to see him on the plane. I can only surmise that they are either playing games or needed a tall emg and decided a sore Barrass is worth the risk if required rather than a Brown/Giles.
I think you're overestimating our match committee, they've shown plenty of times in the past that they favour experience over youth whilst completely ignoring form.
