Can we keep carrying Venables?
Arguably our weakest link.
I think so. He’s attack on the ball is pretty intense.

Would you rather Ah Chee? Or OAllen?

Duggan's played 68 games and is still only 21. He's improved this year and will continue to do so if we keep him settled in a position.

I agree that some of his disposal can be terrible out of the back half when he perceives he's under pressure when he isnt and turns the ball over. But overall his attack on the ball and pressure is great. Look at the Adams tackle in the 4th for example!

There was another moment in the 4th quarter where he sprinted from the centre to the wing to beat everyone the ball, picked it up cleanly and passed it on his right, obviously gassed, to another player shows talent.

He just needs to remember to take that extra half second when he gets the ball to lower the eyes and make a better decision. Back him in!
I do back him in, I'm pro-Duggan, I was asking game total to see where he's at as a reply to his detractors. So he's in the 50+ zone and like many players before can improve at any time. Look at Sheed for a recent example.
And absolutely back Venables in! confidence and ability grows each game..valuable experience.

Depending on match ups its either Schofield or Nelson.

If we play Melbourne don't be surprised if Nelson comes in due to their smaller forward / medium sized line. Dees are playing like campaigners with a fair amount of push and shove.

I'd hate to go too tall and get killed by a more agile / faster forward line.

We just need the Hawks and Dees to smash the bejesus out of each other this week in a cold wet game and the following week to get a nice hot 25+ degree day.:thumbsu:

Agree with the last point, but disagree with the Nelson call.

I think either way Schoey is the man, since both Hawks/Dees play a tallish forward line.
Looking at both teams from last weekend:

Hawks
HF: Gunston (193) Roughead (193) Breust (184)
FF: Ceglar (204) Nash (197) Puopolo (173)

Demons
HF: Melksham (186) McDonald (194) Fritsch (188)
FF: Hannan (189) Weideman (195) Neal-Bullen (182)

Bringing Schoey in allows us some match-up flexibility & can help free up Gov to do his thing.

The 3 KPD may become an issue if we get through & face Tigers, but let's cross that bridge if and when we get to it.

Hearing Shepp out and noone in. We love a good win with only 21 available players. So arrogant.

I'm hearing Gaff in for Shep, we're just going to arrogantly tell the AFL to shove their suspension

Surely Watson doesn't play, right? It's got to be Schoey. When was the last time (if ever) that a player has debuted in a prelim?

Bulldogs debuted Andrew Hooper (more like Andrew Who?per, am I right?) in a final a few years back, and it was the first time that had happened in decades.
