Andrews was not looking in his element either, a forced change will make the match committee think differently. Leaving Andrews one out with the medium pies forward was hard to watch, they killed us with ground ball and on lead. The ball was coming in lace out, Andrews value goes up when the opposition bombs it in - not with the style pies and bombers play.

I'll put Bastinac back in for Lyons, if anything he knows where to find the ball. Give a couple of debuts - Answerth, Wooler, Ely or whoever is consistent in NEAFL - just move forward with whoever is willing to step up.

McStay goes back, replace him with a small or medium forward who will actually lead.
This wasn't true in the first 3 rounds when he averaged about 10 disposals

Dan McStay has played 85 odd games and needs a spell. Some pathetic efforts from him last night.Keays in apply more pressure in our forward half.Dont rate him that highly but form gives him his chance.
Lyons keeps his spot because Matho is out.Ely gets his debut game and let’s have a look at him at afl level.
Harris replaced by Eagles and bring some aggression.(Pies going home bruise free).
Witherden out Answerth in.Offering no work rate off the ball and trailing his man way too often, needs a kick up the backside.

Outs - Mathieson (Inj), Andrews (inj), tinker with the team. I would omit Witherden and Big O...move Robertson to midfield filling Mathiesons position to use his grunt as that hardnosed midfield enforcer.. Move McStay down back his defensive work has been ok.. Bring Wooller in as McStays replacement up forward. In C Lyons as interchange bring Skinner down back and either Fullarton or Cutler..

Thought Robbo was really good last night for his first game back in the seniors. Wasn't affraid to take the game on and used the ball well. His aggression, work rate and commitment are all top notch too. A few of our players need to take a leaf out of his book and work as hard as he does. No chance of being dropped.

Berry is playing more outside than last year which is probably the main reason that he is down.
making use of his endurance I guess.
Inside / outside combination, can kick a goal.
Thought he would explode this year - seems the glandular fever hasn't really affected him so far.

I'm sure we'll bring in Corbett next week
Lukosius either out this or next week
Whether that means Wright, Corbett + Burgess forward line or Burgess plays back (where he has looked better) and forward line with Wright and Corbett the talls to be seen.

I actually think the GF has affected him. I also thought he would explode, and his pre-season suggested to as well. Hasn't beenn bad but hasn't taken that next step. Reckon it has delayed the break out year by a year unfortunately.

I think in the second qtr I watched Cameron just stroll out the back line with the oppo with ball in hand was 10 m away. This guy is one of the fastest in football. But defensive efforts like that just cant stand. He wont be dropped I know but the lack of effort from him and many others is pathetic. We have some injuries now to contend with. Not that matho and Andrew's were having stand out seasons in the first place.

2nd game bak wasnt it? But agree. Robbo is some one that will benefit big time from continuity. Will keep his spot.

Yeah, you're right. He hasn't been as bad as I anticipated with the glandular fever but he hasn't gone to that level that I thought he may.
Will see how he runs out the year.
One of my favourites from the Lions squad with Mccluggage and Bailey.

Dare I say we, we seem to be having a few too many bruise free footballers. Need some more mongrel and desire to win the contest.
That wasn't the issue at all. We committed too many players to contests all night and as soon as the ball got to the outside there were free Pies players waiting. Simple.

Its a big shame, he wouldn't dare put in this lack of defensive effort were he at Adelaide

Depends whether we're going by the Cunnington, Dusty 1 or Dusty 2 metric.

Given our recent run with the MRP and equivalents, Zorko is probably being arrested for assault as we speak.
Given he's not from Victoria, will be offered 3 weeks as Christian stamps his authority.

In Cutler, Keays , Alllison out Andrews, Matho and Lyons. Mcstay to fullback. Allison to half forward and Cutler to Wing. Berry to Centre/mid. Mcstay is a backman he goes not run the correct lines upforward.Cutler and Allison inject pace through the wing and Half forward.

Had a similar poor effort against Essendon when we were coming back and he let Saad run it out from the last line of defence which ended up being a goal.
