Fortitude Valley Diehards. Chelsea.
The back line does not carry the majority of blame for our floggings the last 2 weeks, the pressure up the ground and our turnovers has left them terribly exposed and not many back lines in the history of the game would have stood up to the ease and pace of the entries. With the 666 if you are getting slaughtered out of the center bounce it's downright impossible to defend.

Defense is an 18 man game these days.

watched the NEAFL match and as I said the young new kids not knocking the door down. You see good things in Joyce, Berry, E Smith etc
Liked what I saw from Wooler and Fulerton although not sure good idea to rush any of them in like we used to.
Alison and Smith played well of the older guys. Be tempted with Smith replacing one of our rucks. Not sure Allison seems almost there.

The best players for the day are the ones that float in and out of our top 22 Taylor, Cutler, Keays and Basti.
As you expect they should be a level above. Out of the 4 I only noticed improvement since last time in Keays seems to added extra leading and marking.
The other three we know what we get so if you have a hole they can fill it. With Matho looking to be out you think one of these three we get tapped.
depends what we want to do.. Eagles be the logical replacement for Andrews. Although I would think better to send McStay back and loose a tall and add Keays.

McStay gets dropped. I don’t care that Andrew’s is most likely out and he could play back. Apart from some bang and crash in Rd1, he has been hopeless this year.

Cutler comes into the side.

Eagles comes in for Andrews.

Mathieson is also likely to be out and Bastinac comes in for him.

Witherden on his last warning. Play like a spud and you are gone.

Agree with most of it. Not sure about Bastinac tho, he has been in and out plenty of times. He doesn't do a lot and seemed to be getting sub 10 possessions in our wins. Would rather go for a T.Berry or Answorth or someone

I’m Ok with your suggestions based on whoever is displaying the most form and willingness to run.

I thought Bastinac was stiff. Playing in a winning side. Only player who gets dropped after 3 rounds, we get smashed the next game and make no changes, then get smashed again. He wouldn’t have made the difference, but we could have done with his run. Inconsistent team selection for mine. Let’s see what happens next game with selection.

A few people have mentioned moving N Robbo into the midfield as and enforcer / on the ball ... have we seen him play in that position before and, if he has, how did he go there (and if he did well what got him moved back to the backline instead)?

From what I have read, NRobbo was drafted as a big inside mid. Why the move to defence, I don't know. It's like Bailey and Starcevich being moved in to defence when they played as mids as juniors.

I don't think it would work because his decision making is slow. Although having said that, he might be good in the midfield if he just has to play on his reflexes. I am a fan of playing Zorko on the half backline to give us some drive, so Robertson might be a good switch.

Callum Brown very handy player... said we should be trying to get him in the last offseason, but collingwood knew what they had, another potential star midfield piece just waiting his turn.
If by work off the ball you b=mean doggedly trailing opponents all night... I guess. He was a couple of metres behind Treloar so many times it's not funny. Not that Matho was much better apart from one 5 minute burst in the third, he got schooled by ******* Callum Brown (Collingwood's last picked player) in a couple of contests.

Surely Christenson is an out.... been poor both weeks since back in for the two losses. Our midfield getting touched right up. Need some speed but no Lewy Taylor thanks. After 5 years running around like a headless chook the match comitte realised theres not huge substance in his game. Would much rather play Keayes.
Witherden needs a game in the twos to remember what its like to earn a game, he seems to think he owns halfback and he doesnt atm.

Outs: Andrews (inj) mathieson (inj) christenson witherden (WAY OUT OF FORM)

Ins: WOOLER KEAYES CUTLER HINGE

I think Fagan prefers continuity, so we are unlikely to have many changes (if any) beyond Andrews and Matho. I expect Eagles and Keays (or Taylor) to come in.
I surely hope after two poor losses he makes some changes, have to hold some of these guys accountable and reward in-form NEAFL players like Keays.

I'm only seeing 3 changes this week. We need speed coming into the side that is for sure. We seem slow. We also need to get Rayner pinch hitting in the middle more. He's got too much talent to not be more involved. I'm shifting McStay down back to fill in for Andrews.

Out - Mathieson, Andrews, Christensen
In- Cutler, Cox , Wooler

Answerth or Hinge debut this week on the backline. Keays to the forward line. Eagles to replace Andrews. Swap McStay and Walker, see how they go at either end. Walker has been clunking a lot lately, might fare better than McStay.

Cameron/Rayner/McCarthy can take turns to get to center bounces and change it up a bit. DeGoey came in at 3rd quarter and tore us in clearances. It's a good change up, we should try take a leaf out of that and try it.

Don't pretend to know the rationale for team selection, but surely Toby Wooller would be pushing hard after two statistically good games... if Harris is out, maybe Mcstay goes back and Wooller, Hipwood and Big O are the talls up front?
They weren't just statistically good, they were genuinely good games. Having a full preseason has done Wonders for his fitness.
