We cannot carry players week after week that are not performing. We have to address the areas that we are down on otherwise our poor performances will continue. Changes have to be made to help reduce problem areas. I was surprised that Fagan said that we moved the ball to quickly into our forward line in the first quarter against Collingwood. We were shown up all night for pace. It appears to me that he likes to go with unchanged sides so only for injuries don't expect to many changes. Our energy and work ethic is just not good enough. Not at all confident of a win against Gold Coast with a loss between 20 to 30 points

Do you think we can lose by 30 points? Gold Coast can barely kick 10 goals in a game. So that would require us to kick maybe 5-7 goals.

Our last 2 games have been very poor. Gold Coast were down last night but if we do not improve - expect it.

So you expect the Suns to revert back to their form earlier in the season but us not to. Very defeatist attitude.

If Fagan doesn't make a lot of changes to the team after the past 3 weeks, then he doesn't deserve to make the selection calls. Against the Pies he went with the slower team instead of moving in faster guys who have been performing like Talyor, Culter and co. Against the Bombers he made the same mistake. We're carrying players who aren't doing what's required of them/players who need a wake up call. If Fagan doesn't make the changes that clearly need to be made over the next few weeks, then I don't want him coaching past 2021.

You can't keep playing the "winning" team against teams with different strengths, whilst also playing players that aren't in the game.

I think we need to go with a smaller forward line,2 talls are enough,Hipwood and McInerney. We need more ground level players in there to apply pressure. I would shift McStay back, push Bundy forward where he could work with Cameron and McCarthy, bring in Taylor on one wing and move NRobbo to the other wing where he can use his running strength better. IMO NRobbo doesn’t have the aerial abilities to play defensively, but his running and aggression could really help us out further up the ground. Then bring Cutler in on the half back line where his pace and long kicking could help to get us through the defensive setup from the opposition which is currently killing us. I think we definitely need more speed and X factor which both Taylor and Cutler can provide. And I believe McStay would be better playing out of the back half where he can intercept rather than having to try to create the play up forward which he really seems to struggle with.

Look at our backline, 470 points against. The third worst in the league behind Melbourne and North Melbourne. That tells me we have the biggest issues in the midfield and backline. It is not a defeatist attitude but you have to look at performances across the board and the lions state of play is not good at present. What I am seeing is poor and many others are saying the same thing. 3 wins 2 losses is better than I expected but our form overall has dropped considerably. When involved in football for many years you know when a side is on or it's not. Form can turnaround in a short period of time but in today's game it's above the shoulders but as I said earlier our energy and work ehtic is nowhere aggressive enough. Until we address our problems we will continue to struggle.

The lack of run as others have noted is quite evident. Personally, I am open to a number of changes and we know that there are 2 with Matho and Andrews being out. I wouldn't be looking for going like for like. Cutler for me has to come in but not to be played in the backline. I do remember a number of turnovers he has committed in previous years. He has to come on to the wing. Allison I would bring in to play in the backline and give Hodge an extended break. Taylor or Cox is another one that I would also look to bring in and maybe in place for Bundy. Andrews is a massive out especially with 2 metre Peter and you would think that McStay would move back. This would alleviate the overly tall forward line. 2 certain outs with maybe one more.

Ins - Cutler, Allison, Taylor, Cox
Outs - Andrews, Matho, Hodge, Bundy

Been given chances in spite of not doing much for last 3 rounds. Basti comes in for Lyons. If anything it should hurt more getting dropped against his old side.
14 of em will be getting chances from not performing last fortnight Lyons isn't the one to drop imo witherden hasn't played on good game this year and mcstay not to far behind along with bundy all 3 should be dropped

Only because he gets a possesion every kick out.
His kick outs have been ordinary this season, IMO his 1st season was by far his best, he seems a bit gun shy. I'd rather Hodge took more of the kick outs, he sees a target pulls the trigger and doesn't 2nd guess himself.

Our problem starts from winning the footy in the middle, once first use is gone we look slow across the field without the ball. Lyons and Matheison are in for that center clearence / stoppage clearance work but Neale is doing all the heavy lifting alone lately. Time to change it up and bring some fresh legs in the center and half back. My vote is for Bastinac to play the clearance mid role behind Neale plus get Cutler, Answerth in wing and half back. Wooler could debut in place of Rayner, rewarding his good form in 2s.

The more I think about our midfield the More I think our starting three should be Lyons, Neale and Berry with McCluggage and Cutler on the wings/Zorko and McCarthy on the flanks. That'll give us an outside runner in Cutler to receive instead of a more inside focused player. Having all of Matho, Neale, Lyons and Berry (especially while Zorko is struggling to find his offensive game at the moment) is just lacking of any damaging ball use entering the forward 50. As good as McCluggage is becoming, we can't expect him to do it all. If we have a guy like Cutler or Cox on the opposite wing then we have guys who can genuinely drive the ball inside 50 and break lines with speed. Obviously the issue with the two I've mentioned is their ability to be consistent and run both ways, but I think it's the lack of outside damage that's costing our mids more than anything.

Agree with most but would also throw E.Smith in the middle to see what he can do. Rayner as well for short bursts when he's fully fit

As unlikely as it seemed in the preseason one of the Lions of the Suns is going to be 4&2 after the next round.

I will be thoroughly disappointed if it is not us. Probably the first game this year where I have a level of expectation and not just hopeful.

If you look at their side on paper, we should be too good. Should*

Sadly though, local rivalries have a habit of throwing form guides out of the window

Always been a fan of McStay, although inconsistent, and genuinely thought he would make something of himself. This year is his last chance for mine. Never liked seeing him moved around much in the past, but he's not performing well enough up forward for someone who should play their 100th game this season.

I'd bring in Wooler for Andrews, Wooler to debut up forward. Move McStay back.
And then Cutler in for Mathieson. Not like for like but we need to mix things up with our dynamic.
I'd consider one more change depending on who does/doesn't train the house down to hold their spot.

I could get around that idea.

Out: Andrews, Matho, Bundy
In: Wooller, Cutler, Keays
