* Gil and * the Geelong narrative that is being plastered across every media outlet. Will make it all the more sweeter when they crash and burn

Lazy (as well as unprofessional) analysis by Gil.

We are all the harshest critics of our team but if you take a step back to consider the season we have done alright.

Despite looking horrendous at times with our ball movement we have never dropped out of top 4 and we have been in front the most at 3 qrt time than any team. 2nd place after a flag is also low key not a bad spot to be as we avoid a 2008 or 2018 style dominant flag defence but shock loss scenario. Hardly anyone in the media apart from a select few who have had the conviction to stick with their prediction the whole year has us winning any more.

Has all the makings of Goody going full Choco, "and Gil McLachlan, you were wrong"

2nd place after playing the equal most finalists of any top 8 team is a pretty bloody good effort imo
Agree

Think the tough run home will be good for us.

I think Cats might get jumped out of the blocks by the Pies for the same reason. Cats have been playing well but haven't faced any real opposition for a while. Pies are used to the high pressure games/finishes.

Think Cats still likely to win but might take a quarter or two to get up to speed. They also historically play awfully after a week off

Hard to gauge Geelong imo. They've had a softer draw coming into finals but they've been doing it fairly easily. Fans were saying the same s**t about Melbourne in the first 9 rounds last year. It's not who they are playing It's how they are playing which seems to be in cruise mode.
