Does anyone know whether it was the AFL that mandated this be our celebratory game or did the club choose it?
Was scheduled for round 20 against Geelong and it was moved.

Yes, we are up against it, but I like the changes. Many of us have been calling for Phillips, Harvey, and Duursma, so let's see what they can do.

Phillips is a good replacement for Wardlaw (based on current form and fitness) -let's see him make a difference
Duursma > Fisher on either the wing or forward line.
Harvey for McDonald (not as strong defensively, maybe, lose a lot of experience, but a lot better offensively - I rate Harvey, he like Phillips beed opportunities to play)
Scott for Parker - that's a significant loss, especially against the Bulldogs.
Finbar for Darling—a loss, yes, but I don't mind. Darling has been inconsistent, and I hope that Finbar is played between the arcs to take advantage of his aerial strengths.

I’m tempted to write an email next week expressing my disappointment

I wrote one to the Club in my whole life time and Greg Miller wrote back within a week, in the mail
They're more likely to read snail mail.

Not enamoured by the changes.

Hoping the scoreline is better than the later round last year.

Who knows I’ll be there because it is meant to be a celebration of all the things I love about the club.

Already have an agreement with those that I’m going with if it gets ugly we’ll leave.

It was an ok period where we were kinda sorta almost ok and I think we return to regular programming of sucking hardcore.

F*** I’m tired of this.

Great question. Totally insane that that question needs to be asked.
He doesn't fit the "type of person" the club wants to be associated with so who knows???
He said on Trent Cotchin's podcast he was going to be there.

We chose it.

Wasn't AFL mandated at all. Was us.

I could, but what am I hoping for out of such an exercise?
Dunno.. you're the one telling the story.

But if you're hoping someone might read it and take notice then snail mail is more effective than email. Simply because everyone does email and its easy to get lost in the mess or ignored, very few people make the effort to send snail mail now so it has novelty value and gets people's attention.

I have a biro you can borrow Gasometer paper and envelope as well but you’ll have to buy your own stamp 😀
