I don't mind Roberton, but the main problem is his kicking. Like people have said, they go too high and slow ... he has one of the least penetrating kicks in the competition. Not sure what to do about it, but it is not ideal when you are switching play or looking for targets coming out of the backline.

This is an area of his game that he is working on - he gave off a couple of low, fast kicks on the weekend amongst the usual floaters - so at least we are seeing some improvement. The kid isn't going to die wondering though - he hits the contests hard and fast for a confirmed Spice Girls fan.

Anthony and Palmer in

McPharlin and Suban (sore) out

Harvey hinted that Suban may be an out in his press conference. Pretty hard to argue that he wasn't rushed back in too early now...

I was hoping that one of Anthony and/or Bradley would come in for Johnson. We really need a focal point up forward to straighten us up IMO.

It's a shame that the big Faulksy hasn't been selected.

Got a feeling he'll play.

Regardless of Suban's performance, he gained valuable match fitness and will be better this weekend. It'll just happen to be with Claremont instead.

He should've gained valuable match fitness in the WAFL last week and been a chance to play AFL this week.

Anthony to the backline perhaps?

Nah doubtful as he's been brought in on the back of a good performance up forward for Subi.

Who knows if they get some better, more consistent (or just more) forward entry than in the first derby he might be able to kick some goals. Maybe.

Jack Anthony
Jack played forward for Subiaco and was sharp, enjoying a really productive day. He was constantly on the move and his ability to change direction and get off his opponent was good. He had 18 possessions and kicked 4.3, giving off a number of opportunities to teammates. Overall his defensive pressure was excellent and we were very happy with his performance.

V

Kepler Bradley
Kepler started on a wing for West Perth and then moved on-ball with a short stint in the ruck. He had a really big impact in the first half as a midfielder around the stoppages, gaining a number of clearances through his strength and disputed-ball wins. He showed good hands to set up some early forward entries and he ran well to space. He went forward at one stage and probably needed to show more authority in the air.

And the guernsey goes to..........
