I wouldn't dismiss Petrenko's possible omission. I am starting to think that maybe Jacky could have more influence in the forward line or maybe Symes around the ground.

The question that needs to be asked is this - is young Michael Doughty the future of the AFC, and do we think he will be playing in 2010? His first instinct nearly every time he gets the footy is to either handball or kick backwards, and usually puts his teammate under pressure. His fumble in front of Bullies goal in the first quarter was typical of the way he has played this year. Douglas needs to be shown the door, even though he wasnt our worst today. He has had way more chances that Skipworth ever got, yet has none of the finishing skills of Skippy. As a small crumbing forward, you have to make the most of opportunities inside 50m, yet Douglas cannot hit targets or kick the crunch goals that Milne, Davis, Medhurst etc nail when they get their chances. He generally makes the wrong decision, constantly slips over, fumbles with the footy, handballs to flatfooted players, and just isn't a smart footballer. Give Dangerfield and Petrenko more time in the middle & up forward and they will be great options to rotate

2009 needs to be a true rebuilding year. Shirley, Douglas, Doughty should not be playing this year, its time to give the next generation more of a go. I would love to see McKernan, Davis, Cook, Jacky etc get a chance to show off their wares.

Looking at replacements for Douglas I realised how shallow our midfield depth is. Outside the 22 (excluding rookies) we have

I don't know about ins and outs just yet, but there's one change I can think of that needs making - Reilly is not, and never will be a defender. Put him back in the midfield or send him packing, because he is so easily beaten by his opposing forward that having him there for rebounds is a net loss.

McKernan? Not a chance, and I hope we don't see him at all this season, he's just not ready no matter how much you oversell the "he's big and strong enough".

Sellar? No. He's not even showing SANFL form, so I don't see what kind of circumstance, short of Bock, Stevens and Rutten all being out injured, he would be added to the side.

At least Walker finally got his off the ball work together today, and look how well it turned out for him. Now he just needs to make the same body and chase efforts every week.

Have Maric and Griffin done enough to get back in? We have some serious issues with our ruck stocks right now.

Here's an example of the odd perspective being at the game can give you - I was prepared to call Van Berlo our worst player, after he seemed to burn the ball in the worst possible ways more than Knights and Symes combined today, yet the stats tell me he had 29 touches with 83% DE. Go figure.

It's not all about stats peanut, I'd rather Petenko get 6 touches and chase, tackle, go hard at the packs and pressure his opponent than the efforts of the above listed guys today. One tall blonde headed ponce in particular.

Where do I start?

Mcleod: his time is up. Is disinterested out there and only tries when he has no opponent so he can get cheap kicks. He should really hang up the boots after the tribute match against Carlton, because he is starting to become embarrassing out there.

Even though he didn't have a massive impact on the game, he played on the wing and was heavily tagged but still did a lot of good things. I thought he threw his body in to the contest a lot more today, which you really do not see. He's out of form and Craigy needs to try something with as he certainly isn't helping his form or confidence by continuing him in his wing/ half back role.

Douglas: time to **** off for this spud. Has shown absolutely no improvement this year, has gone backwards in fact. Is slow, has shocking balance, can't kick and always handballs to team mates about to get tackled. Absolutely rubbish so far this year, should not be playing in AFC colours next year. We delisted Massie who tried twice as hard and made half the errors as Douglas.

Were we at the same game today? Threw his body in to the contest, worked his guts out. Is only one of a few that kicks it long out of a clearance. I have that much confidence to suggest he would've had more kicks than handpasses, so your referenece to him always handpassing is crap. Also, we have about 18 other players that continously put teammates under pressure from a handpass

Thought Van Berlo was in that middle group of players that played just OK

My worst player ward today goes to Symes .......who is clearly not in last years form and is struggling

As for Shirley, well, he was the emergency today, not Cook, so that's the way I'm leaning - replacing the loss of our Captain and an experienced senior player with a kid who is still too small and scrawny to play AFL in this, his second year, is not great for balance.

Of all the flaws you can attribute to Pets, tackling I would have thought would be last. Go back to the Geelong game and have a look at the only bloke who was actually able to stop one God Jnr in his tracks. The bloke can tackle FFS. He is tackling better than half our more seasoned players.

If you want him dropped fair enough but don't lump him in that group when we have some continual offenders (hi Dougie) who literally couldn't tackle my grandmother to the ground.

Yes i do want sellar in as you say we are in a rebuilding year not for any of the 3 players mentioned thow but we need to play the youth wats the point having sellar on the list if he aint gonna play?

Give him the same chance as all of our other youngsters i mean how was Dangerfield's form in the pre season yet he still got to play maybe give Sellar a few games and he may take the bull by the horns

His tackling is great.

Today it was less so. Couple that with everything else, and well, there you go. Replace him with Jacky, I say.

I really hope we do NOT bring in Sellar.

Not because i think he has no future. On the contrary, the best chance he has for a future is to stay in the SANFL for at least another couple months.

For the first time on the weekend, he started to influence a game, show intensity and confidence in his abilities. Let him build on it for a while.

Doesn't matter how bad the Crows are, we should turn to Gill or anyone really before Sellar this year...for his own good.

As to Jacky...bring him in now! Seya Douglas!
