We were never going to win against that powerhouse side comming of a loss.

Today was irrelevant as it’s not just about losing today. It’s how we lose and the end result of most seasons. We find a way of losing the same way each season without making any valid ways of fixing it. Neil Craig keeps the same stupid game plan; the players don’t and haven’t shown genuine improvement because they continue to use this stupid game plan and roll the dice that something will change.

So no consideration for the complete power house side we were up against???

We were up against a great side yes, and as i said there were still positives.. But it still doesn't change things like our consistent history of games like today..

You cannot say it's not a worry how often this occurs.. Like to know why it's the case....

How many times do we have to go through this situation before we accept that we definitely have issues?

Facts:

1. Our game plan under NC doesn't stand up to pressure.
2. When a team gets a run on against us, our main tactic is to try and "execute better"
3. It is plainly obvious that the players believe 1 but have no belief in 2 accentuating our issues.
4. We rely on the opposition making mistakes and/or playing poorly to actually win games.

Yes it was Collingwood, and we were never going to win, but this pattern of outright capitulation under pressure is a sign of deep seeded problems with our game plan, personnel and belief.

I honestly wish some of you would hand in your membership badges.

Am I disappointed with the way things turned out? Absolutely. But I couldn't believe we were in the position we were and why? The inexperience of our side and when they got a run on we couldn't stop it - it was like a deer in the headlights.

Did I see a number of positives? Yes. If you had a look at most stats, the game was a very even one for the first three quarters, the difference was we executed in front of goal and they didn't (until late in the game when they got their radar working - they hit the post 4 times from memory)

Why did we lose? Because even though we won the hitouts, it was them not us who cleared the ball. That was our biggest undoing today.

Who is our midfield/clearance coach because he has a lot to answer for what happened in the last quarter?

Hang on - we have to give some credit to Mark Harvey here. Fyfe has been a regular since almost the beginning of his first season on the list. It's no guarantee that Fyfe would be playing as well for us. Or at all for that matter.

The Dockers were prepared to cop a couple of poor years while they fed youngsters into their system.

We can't assume that our approach would produce the same results, even with the same player.

I'm not sure Freo, a side have only had like 3 not-poor years in their entire existence, are the best club to be using this line on...

But yes, our development could have been very different, although I don't think it would be from a lack of giving him games. Brodie Smith has played every game possible. Dangerfield has barely spent any time in the SANFL - including playing a couple of times while based in Victoria. There have been periods where we've been reluctant to play youngsters, but not our first round mids in the last couple of years, and the Talia draft was only a year and a half ago.

In any case, I'd still rather an extra mid than Talia right now, and Fyfe has been amazing this year.

Plenty of positives from today, but as I think a majority of Crows fans out there would have been thinking 23 points up with half a quarter to go wouldn't have seen a 66 point turn around. We should have won that game, gallant effort, but expect more...is that right Neil??

Good teams don't let that happen. We are getting there and if we play with this sort of desire each week it will begin to turn around sooner rather than later.

But for Criagy to say we have a soft underbelly, um man up when everyone but Neil can see a momentum swing, Thommo is stuffed, Dougy, VB and Radar have nothing left, drop McKernan behind the ball, don't give space to D Thomas who suddenly had the plague that no one could get near him, these are the things we see that seem obvious to those who have watched games in the past few seasons. Just not fast enough from all of the coaching panel. You could see the smiles on the Pie players faces knowing they had cracked us. It shitted me coz I was sitting next to a mate who is a rabid Pies supporter and he thought we had it won.

We should never accept a loss. But .... I wouldn't like to be a young player at the crows with some of our "supporters".

Some of the development of inexperienced players in the crows has been excellent this season.

Mckernan, Sloane, Smith, Wright, L Thompson, Jacobs, Jaensch, Henderson all have progressed and are looking the goods.

Jaensch back into defense has been fantastic move.

I wasn't sold on Henderson until I saw him live, great work ethic. He will make it, have to remember his junior bball, hasn't played a lot of football.

Changes? Walker in (after signing new contract with crows) , probably for Gunston.

Agree that your first lot of players have progressed, but Hendo has regressed. Future looked bright last year and it seems that hit he took pre season has made him hear a whole lot of footsteps

He has shown he has talent, so lets give him a chance and go back to the SANFL and try and get some confidence in taking a hit against some smaller bodies

Fyfe was damn good last year too.. Up another notch this year.. Going to be an absolute beauty that one..
