Has to be a plan for wetering otherwise we are going to have another Taylor opening round scenario
Either Do a hawthorn and keep it away from him or play the defensive forward to play tight and hard or do a combo of both

I reckon Bobby's going to play the match of his life on Thursday out of respect to the big Krak. Will be a sad night but bring the team closer together.

A bit sad I won't be in Melbourne to watch it live, hoping the replay will unveil an epic demolition of the baggers.
surely points to the sky for Kraks

I love Bobby high up the ground. Makes players look silly. Against these Pompeii statues he’ll run riot

Pretty straight forward i would think

Out Reef ( sucks ) Cox
In Frampton Mihocek.

Take our chances and nullify them at clearances then we should win comfy.
Blues midfield isn’t great atm, Crippa is trying his heart out but is being smashed to shreads, Walsh is cooked, Cerra has been ok, and Hewett has probably been their best mid.

Been quite a bit of commentary regarding the number of top picks within the Carlton side.

Carlton had 14 organic draft picks within their named team against Footscray.
4 top 10 picks.
9 1st rounders.

As it stands on last weeks teams ~
Points variance 1725
Percentage 8.58%

I'll update once the teams are named.

Whoever takes Weitering should study vision of Gunston on Sam Taylor on Saturday night

Yeah he raises to another level in the blockbusters and finals. Some stoppage brutality will be nice
I love when opposition supporters talking him down because he's never been All Australian or polled well in the Brownlow.

It's not a hyperbole to say that I can't name many players in the league I'm taking in front of him if I had to pick a best finals 22.

I crap on about the 2023 prelim a lot but that night was ridiculous. In 3 and a bit quarters too. It was comical him being stuck on the bench for the entire last 5 minutes of so when he was that far BOG up until then. If we lost it would have been a big story

They’d be 3-0 by adding those two. It would completely change their system.

My guess is no one wanted Williams and Carlton weren’t prepared to accept what was on offer for Cerra so it was Owies that got the arse. The end result they further depleted a weak area, were chips in on an 18yo (who’ll be a gun at least) and missed an absolute gun on chump change compared to output. I hope they at least get a good run at it because Hawthorn having their 1st this year is a bit scary.

Our gain though and if we ultimately do anything this year it’ll date back to August last year when Jaicos was shifted back and was then double downed on by their decision to bypass Houston.
They've invested too much cap into their strengths leaving them with massive weaknesses. Last year with Houston landing in their lap was the chance to shift that. I think McKay or Walsh should have been moved on - the faithful would have gone ballistic though which is always the tough part I think..

Do they have anyone to go with Nick? That could get ugly for them and beautiful for us.
Nah they’re not worried about him. He’s a squib that’s never won a contest and never taken a contested mark. A decoy midfielder basically. It’s quite sad how the only way they can feel good is to belittle a player that is widely regarded as a top line player in the comp

Hewett can do it but he’s more a defensive mid rather than a hard tagger
He's also their best performing mid at the moment, can't afford to change his role at the expense of being even more reliant on Cripps and Walsh.

I think they’ll go with a mixed role that looks like Walsh in a sweeping role away from stoppage and Hewett minding him at stoppage. It’s one we need JDG to have an influence in because I don’t think we’ll see a Doggies stat line from Nick on Thursday.

Unless you’re going to do a hard tag on him he’s impossible to stop fully. He works harder to get to contests than anyone and then his breakaway speed means you need to be on the ball or he’s put 20m on you in a flash. Unlike Walsh last year..
