Who does the faithful think our chop-out second ruckman should be this week?

Cox?
Tyler?
Moore?
Mihocek?
Other?

If you pick Cox, who do you drop?

Personally, I thought that Tyler Brown played perhaps his best game for us.
Tempted to want to give him the role again this week.
Interested to get others' thoughts and ideas.
I'd be happy for them to let last weeks second half team roll.

If we play Cox instead of Brown, we will have too many forwards: Cameron, WHE, Henry, Elliott, Mihocek, Mcreery, Ginnivan, plus some Jordy.

Cox played pretty well in his limited on field time.
His second efforts, ground efforts and tackling started at a really good rate.
I was surprised.

Agree with Apex36
Cox goes ruck. Cameron goes forward and Tyler goes home.

Agree last week was perhaps Tyler’s best effort.
But there are other options who offer more and are certainly more of a sure thing.

I want to see Henry, Ginnivan, McCreery, Mihocek (and later Kreuger) playing as many games together as possible and building an understanding of how they play.
It’s so good that we actually have forwards to select as forwards.

FWIW - I actually thought Roughead would have been the perfect sub this week.

Tyler the sub for mine, but wouldn't be surprised if Nick gets a breather one week soon as well.

Just good to have a week with no outs due to injury!

Yep sounds like Cox is good to go. That releases Cameron back to the forward line where he kicked a good set shot goal last week before he was called up to ruck the rest of the match.. That bumps somebody out of the forward line…. And with Ginni and Elliot back in the 22 I still wonder where McCreery sits. So wouldn’t shock me to see him on the sub bench. Brown then is an extra mid we will need. Daicos is also a possibility but he doesn’t look like he needs a rest , and there’s a bye in three weeks anyway. Besides if you rest him then presumably you don’t make him sub either, so another player has to come in. With no VFL last week that player might miss games two weeks running.

I think it'd be a bad move. Forwardline would lack grunt without Mcreery. Henry, Cameron, WHE and Ginnivan need to be balanced.

Brown out. Elliott getting his midfield minutes, changing up forward with Jdg

It seems like the 22 remains unchanged with Henry and Brown swapping. McReery being suggested as the sub makes sense from a possession impact standpoint, but no sense from a “how do we beat Carlton?” standpoint.

I think the only way we win is by dominating territory and playing the 10 possession specialist in front of our best pressure forward seems counter intuitive to me.

I worry that going tall against Carlton is a mistake, Cox is useless when the ball is on the deck and that's where Carlton dominate. Brown as a 2nd ruck vs Silvagni means he can at least contribute at the stoppages when the ball goes to ground, Cox contributes absolutely nothing at ground level

Can't understate McCreery's effort last week in terms of defensive pressure, the pressure he generated on the oppostiion, and his pace to close down a contest or create one was very important. I can't leave him out. For mine, it's got to be either Cox in for Tyler, or unchanged.

Yeah i don't understand the questioning of Beau in the 22. He's basically a lock at this point and his game can't be assessed by looking at the stat sheet.

The hard work he does allows Billy, Ginny and Henry to get dangerous and do what they do best.

Carlton are very good in the air and that's where we are going to need Cox to step up, wind the clock back and start plucking contested marks, 2018 style.

More likely to give Nicky a bit more of a breather ie. miss a game either side (or maybe even both sides) of our bye I reckon to freshen him up.

Ruscoe has barely got a look in this year and would be an obvious inclusion at that point, if he isn't before then...

If Cox is our man in the ruck then he should be instructed to simply punch the ball forward with all the power he can muster when Silvagni goes into the middle. No finessing. Just belt it.

If he didn’t get dropped off the back of his 3 possession none in the first half game I don’t see him getting dropped now.

I think people are massively overrating what Mcreery is doing at this stage. Causing a couple of hurried kicks and getting 5 touches per game is not a lot.
