Lynch comprehensively beat the best ruckman of the past decade and had better connection with our mids than we’ve seen in years. Very stiff to be dropped, especially for Cox, who hasn’t done enough this season at either AFL or VFL level to demand a promotion.

The other changes look OK but the Lynch-Cox swap was simply unnecessary.

With Grundy in year one of a seven year deal and Cameron now best-22, Lynch should request a trade. His performance last week shows that he’s too good to get only 2-3 games a season.

Because he's not a forward and the club obviously view Grundy as first ruck - I'm sad for the guy but AFL is a harsh mistress.

IMO Grundy is more athletic than both - he could easily be groomed to play more time fwd, and become very effective.

He would have to learn to mark and kick first. I would have thought a $7 million player would not need to be taught basic skills.
