Not the point I was making but yes of course that is right. Meaning others should go but probably won't.

Hope Grima is ready and fit, otherwise we are in some bother with WCE having some quality talls. Think our mids should have them covered though (if we turn up of course)

Nice avatar.

Jacobs melts under pressure. He'll go at 3% accuracy against WCE, he is not the answer.

Swallow was better in the 2nd half, use him as Sub.

Out: Tippett Wright Daw
In: Grima Mullett Wood

Agree deserves a real go of full games not sub.
Would love the changes to be
Out: Tippett, Wright, Adams, firrito
In: Grima, Jacobs, Wood, Mullett

Yeh, hate to say it but the way Spud had no awareness of where Hawkins was the other night only to be 30 cm away from him and bounce straight to the grass showed how its probably his last season.

Wright...

Adams...I thought he has been Adams most weeks...needs a few more goals.

If you don't reward a 42 disposal/4 goal game with solid week-in, week-out form when the seniors are dishing up crap then the match committee might as well be cardboard cut outs.

Cunnington is an example of a guy who looked all at sea until he established himself at AFL level (i.e., confidence). I get the impression it is the same for Jacobs - even if he isn't in the same class.

Im really surprised with the number of North supporters who want Andrew Swallow dropped. He is the captain and a 3 time best and fairest winner. I would argue that Friday night is the only poor game he has played for 5 or 6 years. He is a very consistent player. U can nearly bank on him getting it 25 times and laying a heap of tackles every week. In fact if we were picking our team of the 21st century so far I would argue that he would be the 2nd player picked behind B Harvey. By the time he retires he will be one of Norths all time greats. He has probably got as much out of his natural ability as any player ever has. Lets face it - he is not a great mark, not a great kick, not quick, doesn't have fantastic evasive skills but through hard work and determination has made himself into a fantastic player. I expect him to play well this weekend and for every game for the rest of the season just like he has for the last few years.

He is coming back from a year in rehab for a serious injury and has said himself that he is not confident yet about how it will hold up. He is not match fit and his skills are very rusty. I expect him to be off the very high standards he set before the injury for a while yet. Fit, he is one of the first picked. Of course. And even after his first game back I believed he would be best staying in the senior team and getting his touch back there. But last week made me think that maybe he needs more time playing in the VFL before he is ready to come back and do what he needs to do, for himself and the team.

If he stays in the team, I hope I am completely wrong and he had first week rustiness, second week soreness, and will go hell for leather this week and every week for now on.

Agree 100%. Great post.

Agree with someone else who commented that he looked better in the second half as well. Obviously his first half was poor but heck if that was the test then Ziebell would be staying in Melbourne this week.

Swallow will not be dropped or Sub. I would my left nut on that.

If that was the case, we wouldn't have a side on the park.

Can a change warrant a nmfc media ban? I don't want to get hyped up for a mediocre performance and fed horse shit for another whole week

Defensive stocks looking thin... Damn we aren't having much luck with injures this year. Got to reward Jacobs form though surely, hasn't missed a beat in the VFL this year and can hardly judge him for 3 games as sub.

Thompson to Kennedy, Firritto to Darling and Hansen to the 2nd ruck.

Another option is to bring in Wood and play Petrie at CHB but that will never happen.

Yeh I thought about dish back, but wood in ruins the structure, it would have to be brown,

Bit of a shame that Tippet got injured... does he have a nickname yet? maybe something like tonka truck or so... anyway whatever...

Daw needs to play...
if we could just get our starts going alright then we wont have to chase teams down from 6 goals down....

OUt TIppet, Wright
IN Mullet, Grima....

Daw will play to help ruck against cox and nic nat. So Wood might have to wait another week, as much as id like him selected this week.
Swallow is not ready, either sub him or don't play him yet. Jacobs deserves his chance now, give him a couple full games. Hopefully Grima and mullett are right to go

Out: Wright, Tippett, swallow
In: Jacobs, grima, mullett

The only reason Swallow should be on a plane to Perth this week is to visit his family.

I had hoped he would be able to get to speed quickly but it was not to be, looking bad vs the Bears should have been enough of a warning that he needed match fitness before playing a decent team.
