As mentioned by RF08 I reckon he’s in the side to be third man up in the marking contest. Richmond rely on bringing the ball to ground for their crumbers.

Marks on the backline (and everywhere else I spose) will make a huge difference to our prospects. If the umps support the marking players this week it will help.

The flip side of us going in tall is that the tiggers are going in short.
I’m happy that the match committee are being bold and putting out a team based on how we want to play. Rather than being reactive and picking a side based on our opponents.
Shows belief and confidence in our game plan and our players to execute.
Bring on Sunday!
So kind of like the Crows in the Grand Final?

I'd use Majak around the stoppages to clear pathways and create havoc.

It has merit if he sits off and picks off the Richmond player that links up on the outside.

I like that brad has backed our system rather than try to match theirs.

We have to lift our clearance work and win clean ball out of there - no bombing it.

I’d put daw on caddy who’s bog average but seems to kick goals
Taz on Martin when he’s forward.
Whoever’s on rance - we should keep one side of the 50 open and tell that player to drag him over there

Richmond has it over us by 5 at the centre clearances.

We've got them by 6 at the stoppages.

Jacobs and Higgins will be crucial.

It'd be interesting to see if Majak has the instincts to put himself in the right spot if he has to start playing it off the cuff.
Looks like you guys are gearing up to play the way Adelaide have beaten us the last two times at Adelaide...I'll be watching for the obligatory Scott manoeuvre, he's usually half a step ahead of Hardwick on game day.
But I think we'll get ya in the end.

I doubt Maj will play on a direct opponent unless he finds himself on Riewoldt. I suspect he will play loose for a third man up innthe pack role. Large spoils to the boundary if unable to mark. The Tigers small forwards are dangerous, quick and great at finding space on a turn over but in 1x1 contested footy they are custard.

So North's midfield is better than the Crows you reckon?
Actually I hope young Jed plays well. Used to babysit him when he was a kid in Katherine.

The point is to back our strengths and players to EXECUTE.

If we don't execute like Adelaide, we will get slammed like Adelaide if Richmond play at their best.

But if we do execute and Can put Richmond off their game - Awesome

There is no suggestion of being better than anyone - it's a preferred approach , an aggressive one and I think it'll be more fun to watch

Hopefully you're right.
Another thing favoring North is that they're a fair bit older and more experienced.

It will all come down to how well each team executes. Age and individual talent won't be the difference. Richmond are currently the best drilled team in the comp.

The 'rebuilding' story is thrown out the door this week - we have the equal second oldest 22 in the comp!

We are taller, heavier and older. I'm not worried about us being taller at Etihad but I am worried about us being slower.

The reset is well and truly out the door, and has been all season. This is fine if the belief at the club is we’re ready to compete now, but it seems strange given as of the preaseason the clear message coming from the club was that we were building for a future attack, not for a current one. If the attitude has changed after 2 good wins, I’m not so sure that’s actually a smart move. Let’s hope we don’t bomb in the second half of the season, because if we do then we’ve completely wasted this year.

I think at the moment we're just seeing where this year takes us.

On current form I count 7 matches we should be confident going into and probably 4 others we should be looking to split.

Regardless of where we finish we're going to add Thomas and Scott. We may get a pick before the Thomas selection and that'd be icing.

If as a club we're content with those two and whatever we can snaffle later in the draft, this year is essentially a free hit.

Let the cards fall where they may.

Enjoy the ride.

The reset has never been on. We’ve turned over some players like all clubs but there’s never been an aggressive reset/rebuild. It’s just an excuse for not reaching our potential.

Pretty much my thinking unfortunately. Tiger by about 4 to 5 goals.

Isn't it nice how success has mellowed those long suffering Tiggers supporters? A more grounded and humble bunch you're unlikely to find anywhere on this fine website. Need to watch a few videos in honour of their glorious club.

With that last one you can see what happens when Rance has to play on an opponent. No matter how many flags they win they'll always be the king nuffies of the AFL. A very special breed.
