Definitely more.

Arjen has left field ideas but at least there is thought and justification to it (even if not necessarily always accurate), but at least it's not just giving typically blind 'everyone at North is a champion' nonsense.
I seem to remember you batting for firrito when he was stinking it up. Nothing wrong with backing a player you believe in and as it sits right now Gibson is crucial. You want to see bad skills? Go and watch some simmo clips. Terrible kick, but the heart of our club for a few years there.

Wood IN for Browny.

Wood's aerobic ability and strong overhead marking to provide a reliable target for our kick ins, he and Goldy taking a side each with a couple rovers should help bust their press open.

Dumont is definitely going to be a far less necessary inclusion if Bastinac can keep last night's workrate and class up, I mean he actually looked like a genuine midfielder HFF again. We need Basti to come good more than most of us would care to admit.

Daw IN only if Waite has to miss.

I think we will put more pressure on Freo than anyone has this year. They will cough up turnovers, get frustrated and eventually lock the game down. Without a 40% improvement in our field kicking, we will fail to capitalise and lose by a few goals. People will say the Dockers had a crap game and we still couldn't win. I will make a decision not to read the post-game thread, but then open it anyway and regret it for the next several hours.

No change, Daw in if Brown is injured.

Out: Brown, In Majak

If Waite gets suspended bring Wood in.

I hate to spark up the Gibson argument but he was terrible for three quarters and was great in the last.
That is why he can't be dropped. As bad as his first three quarters were (and he was real bad) he was like an extra sub in the last, running like it was still the first quarter when everyone else was stuffed. It was so clear why he gets games.

Hope you're right mate. I reckon we played similar games against all of Hawks, Tiggers and *. Our woeful accuracy all over the field just wasn't punished by the latter 2. Freo that extra class above I reckon, so it's up to us to show some improvement in that area.
I'm confident we can get into a winning position, just not sure we can pull it off. Fingers crossed.

Everyone seems to be ignoring Luke McDonald's poor performance, again. Wood should come back in for him, we have enough back flankers in Wright, Atley and MacMillan already.
Luke stays in for now purely because of his team first attitude. His composure, pressure on the ball and the *essendon players was manic in that final term, at least from what I saw at the game, and his celebrations with Spitta on the bench towards the end proves that he bleeds blue and white and will do anything for the club. The same can't be said for quite a few other players in the side right now. You say we have too many back flankers in the side but Luke gets a game before both Ats and Jmac right now. Ats is almost on the fringes of the 22 I believe, which is why he was sub. If he can't make any impact in the seniors soon, he may find himself in the VFL to find touch. Jmac was ok last night, but still needs to prove that he's best 22, especially coming off a lengthy 2014 injury and an Achilles problem this year.

Your continued defence of players has become equally, if not more, laughable as Arjens proposed changes.

Just sayin.

Gibson will be as useful as **** on a bull exposed to the heat that Freo applies. A full strength Freo, not the shit one we played last season. Last night's game booked his finals ticket though in Brads eyes no doubt.

MehMillan did some good things, some poor things... it was typical MehMillan.

Browny because he should not travel.

Ins are predictable, Dumont whom should never have been dropped, ditto Wood, ditto Turner.

Need a like for like replacement for Brown and I think we have to go with Daw. Don't want Petrie pinch hitting in the ruck, will need him up forward and down back if in game saving mode. If there is one team in the league Goldy will need a chop out with it is Freo. Wood should come in also, for JMac or LMac. Atley to hold his place.

Is handballing it down an opposition player's throat on the last line of defense "composure"? He is a turnover machine.

That was our stand out f*** up of the night. Made worse by the fact it was right on half time and gifted Floggard a goal. It was a dual f*** up as Jacobs shouldn't have called for it and LMac shouldn't have given it. Dumb all round.

Jacobs was in the position to receive it, Luke just put it in the worst place possible. Don't act like it's an isolated thing, his first kick went down Paul Chapman's throat and he consistently just bombs it without looking and gives it straight to the opposition. I'm sure he'll get better but at the moment it's just not good enough, he needs to work on it.

When did I act like it was 'an isolated thing'? Just commented on the one incident.

Sorry, wasn't really specifically talking to you with that sentence but more of a general comment to people who forgive his consistent disposal ****ups and act like they're uncharacteristic.

LMac wouldn't miss a target at training and it definitely is not a technique issue. I believe it is a mixture of poor decision making and perceived pressure which is common with young players. It is this reason why 1: I have no doubt it will improve, 2: the expectations on him on this board are massive so he can easily disappoint and 3: I believe he would benefit from more time in the middle which he currently will struggle to get as we have been poor in this area thus far.

Possibly a free hit for Majak this week. Excited to see what he can do. Wood's gotta come back, need his running ability at Subi. No idea on who would miss out, maybe MacMillan.

with Luke I think of the saying "Don't let your ambitions outweigh your ability". Too often he goes for the low% high reward kick and gets punished for it.
He needs to keep it more simple for now, just take the easy option.

He will eventually bring that excellent game breaking kicking into his game but for now he should shelv it till he starts regularly hitting targets.

Yep I sure did. When many were calling for Spud to be dropped I felt was very harsh considering what he had done previously and was deserving of being backed in despite a poor patch of form. Gibbo is a bit different but as it stands you are quite right he shouldn't be singled out for poor disposal when really it is rife throughout our team. He is surprisingly strong overhead, maybe a touch underrated there.
