I think we will struggle to play a POWERFUL quarter this week let alone three of them. North beat us by 10 goals lets not forget, they are very POWERFUL
We’re a different team now, A11. Have it all “looking like a Melbourne game” style whatever.

Anticipating Melbourne win. By 10. Goals

I don’t mind they. Except I’d play AJ over Fullarton. Doubt Fullarton plays at AFL level again. Just lacks the physicality.

I absolutely like AJ better as a player, but I have doubts on playing AJ and Petty in the forward line together for us. They're just too similar IMO. I'd like another look at the forward line with Fullarton (3 goals on the weekend) just because if he can make space like he has previously but actually have an impact as well then maybe it will work.

AFL can be unpredictable.

Yes. Brisbane will be held to negative 3 goals
Calling it now, Max Gawn calls for a head count in the final quarter and is right, then Brisbane get their score wiped.

Never have i been so sure of anything in my life, put the house on it

Both our houses. In.

(I’m sensing that, like me, you’re not a homeowner)

Plenty of older players are rested to preserve them. I’d be happy to see Gawn be saved from the travel. After resting in the last quarter against Richmond Gawn has been enormous and played big minutes. It must take a toll. Campbell in.

They will definitely want Melk back to play the defensive forward role on Andrews. Spargo looked to be trying to play that role on Sicily which was a bit bizarre, and Sicily got coaches’ votes.

Jeffo is an obvious out and I think Fritsch also needs to go back to Casey. Tholstrup needs a couple of full games back at VFL level to get some touch.

I think JVR needs to stay up. Not fair to drop him after one game and his last VFL game was an absolute belter.

Petty comes back in, but the forward line is looking too tall if AJ also comes in. No AJ and one of Petty or JVR to relief ruck.

Laurie should be in as the best performing VFL player. He can be a mid rotation or a pressure forward.

Turner to start in the backline but with Day injured Brisbane aren’t that tall with Hipwood the only genuine tall and Morris at the shorter end for a key forward plus Rayber playing as a mid size who is strong in the air. If JVR and Petty aren’t providing enough height up forward Turner can be moved forward.

Out: Jefferson, Fritsch, Gawn, Tholstrup
In: Campbell, Petty, Melksham, Laurie

I doubt they will rest Gawn though.

Sharp remains as sub although I wouldn’t hate Brown instead and let Sharp get amongst it at VFL level for a week or two.

Why rest Gawn? We aren't making finals so what whiff of a difference does it make. I say play him every week. Hoping Gawn getting another AA and Langford winning RS are the only reasons to tune in right now.
Rest him for that exact same reason. Keep him fresh and belting other rucks all over the park.

He could easily be rested twice throughout the year and will still waltz into this year's AA team.

Only risk of him not making the AA team is by tearing a hammy from playing too many minutes or his back from carrying the whole team every week.

He is cherry ripe and on fire, that isn't the time to rest a player.

At some point he will get a knock or a niggle of some sort, if you are going to rest him then rest him then instead of playing him through it.

I mostly agree LN.

I would start JvR up forward, but IF he struggles early, I would send him into our defence to play CHB.

I agree with your other Outs.

Melk and Petty into the forward-line. with Turner in defence... switch Turner with JvR if Roy struggles.
