Do we think that persisting with Windsor in the backline is in part to try and improve his kicking? He's already one of our worst and that's with the less pressure of being at half back as opposed to being the middle. I've been keen on him in the middle too, but combining his poor kicking with Oliver, Viney, Trac and Gawn, who are all also terrible kicks might not be our best go? He's a receiver, not an extractor, so it would magnify it even more.

His work in traffic is his best trait as is his run - he needs to be around the ball.

Eventually, 100%.

Currently though, only Viney, Trac, AJ and JVR are worse kicks.

Running means nothing if you just turn it over. Ball movement > Running.

Pretty much no more Jayden Hunt types.

Melksham likely to miss apparently, and Fritsch training with the main squad, so sounds like maybe that will be a direct swap.
Which sucks. Dropping the only forward, if not player, with any footy IQ.

It's not to do with form. I think the cut got infected and due to short turn around, he may not get up.

Nah injury not dropped. Guessing it's that knee cut, but not 100% sure. Family member at training passed it on without much detail.
Fair enough. Still sucks though. Footy IQ is a very rare skill-set these days.

100%, especially given Fritsh didn't do much at Casey and he provides no forward pressure which was a big factor in our win against Freo.
In that case, I'd rather blood Sestan. See what he can do.

I really like Sesto and have wanted him to get a shot for a while, but he's been playing backline for Casey this year so wouldn't think he's a chance.
That's stupid, having him play def.

They've played him all over the place across the journey but never given him a shot in the seniors.
Wouln't surprise me if he seeks a move elsewhere. Otherwise, smoke 'em if you got 'em.

Hang on. How is Marty Hore?

I don’t think Sestan has shown enough at VFL to have other teams chasing him.

His body had a long, long way to go to be AFL ready and it’s probably just about there. He is one of classic players who could bully peers but that game was never going to translate at his height to VFL level, let alone AFL level.

So he was always going to take years to develop his game into something different if he ever made it at AFL level. It’s probably why he’s been tried as a forward first year, mid/forward second year and now as a back.

He’s been emergency a few times though. So he’s not miles off.

Windsor has footy smarts, Hunt doesn't, that's the difference to me though. You can see Windsor trying to do the right things, he's just not quite executing yet. He'll be a weapon once he gets that kicking sorted.
Hunt like so many natural run and carry types... had no idea how to function at the time of the great flood.
