I’m probably going to get a bit of hate for this but I’m dropping Viney. We need speed in the midfield and I’m dropping him before Clarry and Trac at this point.
Viney out means we can add more midfield minutes to Koz, Rivers(yes not extremely fast) and Chandler who did very well against north when he got midfield minutes.

I think that’s a good start…
5/6 of them are over 29.
Rather give the younger blokes games over the older ones who are done.

If I could take Sparrow, Fritsch, May, Petty and a few more I would but we obviously know that’s to many and I prefer the others out first.

Na a lot of people were calling for Jones to get dropped in 2021 at the same age at 30/31. Jones was universally loved but just wasn't best 22 anymore. Viney is in the same boat now, great contributor, loved player, but shouldn't be an automatic selection anymore.

If we were going to respond to the North loss it would have been against the Suns, I don't see us showing much more effort against the Cats tbh.
We need to mix something up in the midfield at least, who comes in/goes out is probably irrelevent at this stage.

Sad thing for me is the shitty boring way we play means we will have close games. If another team has the game on the inside alot we'll do a 60-60 score. Hopefully it's not this Friday

As we've all been saying Viney needs to sacrifice his game for the betterment of the team in the short-term and probably long-term as well.

Up forward as a tackling/pressure machine who can win contests or as a run-with player in the midfield that can nullify a ball-winning mid.

He's a VC and he needs to put his ego aside and do what's best for the team - and obviously the coaches need to see this the same way and put it on him.

Whatever is going on in the middle isn't working. Kozzy back in the team will provide a spark and hopefully balance out the others a bit more but he might be gone at the end of the year anyway.

Getting dropped to the VFL ought to get his ego in order.

Viney is comfortably in the 22. Unless, you want us to get even worse and lose by 120 each week. Which in a typical year where we had our first rounder I'd be down for if it meant we blooded the kids but we don't really have that many. Sure Viney's kicking has been trash, as has the rest of the team. As well as handballing and dropping marks and everything else. Viney shouldn't be made the scapegoat imo. At least he tries. Just trying is better than half the team anyway. Hell Jack Billings is still in the team.

I don't care what Jack Billings does in the VFL anymore - his papers are well and truly stamped and he shouldn't get another game ahead of developing players like Tholstrup (when fit), Woewoedin (who's likely not going to make it anyway) or even a Ricky Mentha.

He's mentally not up to it and has crumbled under AFL pressure time and time again (except that one good game he had against the Dogs were he linked up beautifully on a still, sunny day). And that's okay, it's nothing against him AFL isn't for everyone, but VFL is his level.

I agree with this. I'd be up for trying something. But I'd be more keen to move Petracca. I mean, he doesn't even want to play for Melbourne. I'm not even sure why dees fans welcomed him back with open arms.
