Be interesting to see who they rotate through Langdon's wing in his absence. His ability to play pretty much 100% of the game always saves us a few rotations at least. Seems he's always available as an outlet and his repeated runs and link up play will be missed, hopefully not too much.

I reckon there’s two things to solve.

How do you save the rotations Langdon doesn’t use?

And which players know how to play the wing role? Because if you can find the Langdon rotation savings elsewhere then you can keep the prime mids fresh and rotate more through the wing.

Lever and May are likely to play 100% game time to save rotations, and Petty is another who last year hit close to 100% several times so could do similar. Gawn can push up to 100% resting forward instead of on the bench. So I’m expecting those four to all be between 90% and 100% time on ground.

Bedford named as a starting player means he’s going to hit much higher game time than last week, so is that as the wing? If they just want someone to stay wide for structure purposes then he’s a good option as he has good endurance. Or maybe he plays the ANB role and ANB pushes onto the wing.

Melksham seemed to be the in-game option against the Kangaroos once Langdon got injured so I think he will spend some time there again.

Of course Brayshaw is the one who knows how to do it the best, but that disrupts the backline. If May, Lever and Petty do really high time on ground then perhaps they can handle Brayshaw missing, but I don’t think they’ll do that.

McDonald has been floated but I can’t see that happening. If Weideman is named as sub that might indicate McDonald is a fall back for wing in case of in-game injury.

In short I have no idea and it will be the most interesting tactical thing for Saturday’s game. I’m going to guess ANB, Bedford and Melksham all rotating through wing and half forward.

Dunstan as the medical sub as losing a running player mid game would be the most disruptive injury. Tomlinson the dark horse as he can play back and used to play wing as the other sub option.

Tomlinson's and interesting call. Probably the guaranteed 6-7 out of 10 which we like. His ability to cover back if Brayshaw or Hunt stream forward might get him over the line
However, does he still have the endurance capabilities he did after training as a key defender for a couple of years and missing a big stretch with his ACL?

I think his endurance is still elite - I read reports in the preseason about how well he was running. It does appear his agility and speed have tailed off a bit, but he'd have no troubles running up and down the ground I don't think.

You can be super fit aerobically and still have poor agility, see TMac for example.

Going to be really interesting how we go without Langdon tbh. I’m actually a bit worried as it’s hard to say how we look against a decent team without him.
This is why I thought we go for Baker. We all know he's nowhere near best 22, but has played a handful of senior games now and is the only other true winger on the list to choose from. Probably a clear indication the club will delist him years end. If he can't get a game when Lingers is out, then he's done. Surprised we kept him on in that case..

He got injured against the dogs and missed the Brisbane game last year. He's important but no one player outside May maybe is that important.

TMAC out.

Campaigner finally starts hitting some form (albeit against turnips), and what do you know, gets injured again.

Can't wait for him to be rushed back, then take six weeks to find some semblance of form again.

Really hope my suggestion of "Congrats on 200 games undefeated ex-captain Milkshake now duck off" makes the banner.

Can we have something about congratulating Bedford for miraculously getting another game over future star Bailey Laurie on the other side?

WTF is it with TMac. Average start to the season, starts to find form, then gets injured. Always struggles after injuries too. Time will tell, but it's bloody frustrating. At least we're in a position to rest blokes atm who have niggles. If this was a final I'm sure we'd have Salo, Lingers and TMac all playing.

Having both Langers and Salem out same time is a worry but Melbourne will adjust as they always do.
Brayshaw and Jordon will play their roles.
Weideman in is OK . He'll snag a few on the G. B. Brown needs to kick some as well and will with Viney back in the middle.
Melksham needs to stand up and concentrate for 4 qtrs. Very lucky to be in this team.
200? maybe. Thats ok. He deserves it.

Love your work Toump Ass lol, predicting a Freo win on the main board saying Dees have been smashed by injuries. No lose situation, absolute genius.
Reckon if I barracked for any other side of hate Toump for all his main board trolling. But cause he's a Dees guy I love it.
