So 2 defenders out and no one in to cover them? Petty could go back or we bring in Tomlinson or Disco. I can't see us losing 2 key defenders and not replacing them with at least 1 defender. If Lever is out Disco comes in I reckon.Based off Goody's press conference. Hibberd out for sure, Lever 50/50. I think they'll go with:
Out: Hibberd, Lever
In: Jordon, Brown

Plus Fritsch averages 6 goals a game when it really matters and JVR has averaged 2 goals a quarter since he got 7 quarters into his career.Brown's averaging 4 goals a game in games where he's not injured.
Tommy MacDonald's averaging 4 goals a game in games where he's not being a campaigner.
If my calculations are correct, this means we can expect 8 goals MINIMUM if Brown's fit and Tom MacDonald decides not to be a campaigner.
That's a pretty good return!

I don't think Brown, McDonald and VR is a good trio either, but we played three marking talls last week with Petty and Fritsch still had a day out.Yeah let's play 3 marking talls so we can not use Fritsch as a marking tall because he's s**t at that.
May, or Hibbo could, at a pinch.May is the ideal Stringer matchup.
Petty dropped or goes back to take the second Dons ruck.
Would love to see Howes take a back flank if Hibbo is no good.

Hibbo is already ruled out with injury.May, or Hibbo could, at a pinch.
Petty won't be dropped, especilly against the Bummers.
If Howes was close, it would have been l;ast match. I'd like to see where he's at, but not with Jordan back in. So we wait.

So we can expect at least 22 goals a game from those 4 in big games where Tmac isn't being a campaigner
Brown's averaging 4 goals a game in games where he's not injured.

Live in Canberra. I agreeCanberra would be the shittest idea ever.
Massive overreaction.Don't want Brown in but a few overreactions from Goodwin basically just saying he's available to play.
Yeah even the bit about "We can play three talls" is a bit of a nothing statement. Goodwin has always made vague and broad statements about our plans and the way we play. It's why his pressers are so boring.Massive overreaction.
Didn't exactly get the feeling that Brown is an automatic in this week. Just said that he just needs to get through today's session and in general he can fit JVR, McDonald and Brown together.
If he does play then I doubt it's at the expense of JVR. They'll give him a good stretch of games because right now he's willing to crash packs and do the defensive stuff when the ball hits the ground.
I'm more curious to see whether James Jordon gets a gig back in the 22.

I can see Laurie being sub. He's not getting in ahead of Chandler, ANB, Spargo or Koz. I think he's going to have to bide his time. I like JJ in the team as he's the one mid who has a defensive mindset. Sparrow I guess is the other who could be vulnerable. If it is going to heavily rain during the game then rest Lever and don't bring Brown back in.
A forward line of JVR, McDonald and Petty (for talls) is perfectly suitable for those conditions.
I would think that Tomlinson, Jordan and Laurie will be the candidates to come back in. Really hope Laurie can take this chance, if selected, he had a bit of a flat 1st game I thought.
If there isn't a decent chasm between us and the bombers then we ain't winning the flag. Obviously anything can happen on the day though especially in the wet.I'm surprised with a lot of negativity with bomber fans, I suppose Melbourne has had the wood on the bombers for a while, but it isn't like there's a massive chasm between the 2 teams. I mean we bear the bombers in 2012 and that Melbourne team was atrocious, so anything is possible.
