Can't believe I am saying this but GWS are gettable. They aren't playing well.

Nek minnit. Port loses by 70+ after trailing by only 3 points in the half-time break.
If you fall over the line at home to Richmond then your no certs to beat anyone.
Only thing is next week Hogan will most probably kick at least 6.

Esava and Sinn should be available. Farrell and JHF should be on ice for another week and not risk coming back underdone. Mackinlay and Liddy probably needs a week or so to get up to scratch and understand bit of how Port plays.

I really hope Jackson doesn't get omitted but he will because Ken and keep Mead in the team still and Visentini will also get the axe for Sweet because reasons; yes Dante got smashed but he came back in the second half and was solid. Sweet will then have pointless taps which goes nowhere and the mids will get belted once again.

Start Liddy and let him go hard at everything. A few others can watch him and learn.

Preview: Are we seriously coming back from the bye with Ken still as coach? I guess, like prelim finals, if you go on holidays, did the first half of the year even happen.

Changes: Lord and Mead badly need to go back to the twos and touch the football.

Aliir, Esava and BZT all playing together won’t work but I’m sure we will try anyway.

Seeing as BZT coped with his return, wouldn't be surprised to see Esava go forward and share second ruck duties with Finlayson. Depends how they see Burton's form. The former change will see Lord off.

Sinn and JHF should be back, possibly Farrell, so that will see a few miss out. Jackson should get another chance, that would mean Boak, Mead and Atkins/Moraes are dropped. Can't see all of them being dumped, so I don't expect Hugh to survive.

Visentini and Sweet, depends on how they saw Dante's game. Jackson had an immense game, but he went into unicorn mode.

Here’s my selection.
I wouldn’t drop Zerk-Thatcher personally. I think he suits playing alongside Aliir better than Ratugolea so I’m moving Esava forward and he can play the second ruck role. I would play Sweet and Visentini together but we never play two rucks at all and I doubt whoever makes the final calls on selection would do it so I may as well be realistic about it. I would bring Lukosius straight back into the lineup but more than likely starts in the SANFL and comes back into the AFL side either against Melbourne or Sydney in the coming weeks. I was tossing up between Moraes or Sinn since we probably need an extra defender but since hearing that Carr wants to keep Moraes in the team since he’s apart of the future I don’t think he’s getting dropped anytime soon. Richards starts as the sub since he’s been pretty average in my eyes but it could’ve easily been either him, Byrne-Jones or Boak but I chose Richards because he could come into the game late in the 3rd and provide some spark unlike some of our other sub choices. You have to play Lorenz as well I think. He gets 20 odd touches every week in the SANFL so give him a solid chance as the 3rd winger. Atkins played a pretty good game against Freo I’ll give him that but he just doesn’t chase defensively but he played a solid game so he’s next in if there’s another injury in the backline. Just drop Lord and Mead please. What is Lord even doing out there. Doesn’t have the tank to run out 4 quarters and he just doesn’t impact the game as well as we would like him to but the question has to be whether you want Lord to stay in the team for the future or you put Esava forward because at least when we inevitably bomb the ball inside 50 we have a big bodied key forward down there who can provide an contest better than Lord. Finlayson is on his last bloody chance I swear to god. Play him as the 3rd tall and not in the ruck and if he is showing no interest halfway through the game than sub him off and play him in the SANFL for the rest of the year then delist. Sorry for the rant everyone. I’m new to sharing my thoughts on selection online and as someone who loves the club but is getting increasingly frustrated I know my thoughts mean nothing to the club so ye. You know it’s bad when my mum who is 50 won’t even go to games anymore because she has lost interest in supporting the club. In her words why should I care about turning up to burn away my money on beer, food and drinks while the club does nothing but allow Ken an national farewell party when he should’ve done what John Longmire did for Sydney and step aside after two thrashings in the grand final in two seasons and allow dean cox to take over for some short term pain but the long term damage wouldn’t be as bad. Anywho sorry for the rant but I think we are all in a pretty similar mindset with our opinions

I wouldn’t select Sweet until he strings together a decent amount of games. His tap work goes nowhere and doesn’t do enough around the ground.

And I wouldn’t be playing Esava down forward. He has actually been solid and clunking marks. Yes his kicks are average but so is Aliir’s.

And for goodness sake, can Port just get a grip and omit Mead and Boak? They aren’t contributing much and are taking up spots.

Esava to forward line chat needs to stop, we saw how he performed last 6 weeks of 2024. He has been great in the backline this season, really growing his game.

He also seems to be kicking long down the line more as appose to trying to hit a precise sideways kick, which is nice to see.

He's been alright in the back line, but the reality is Aliir + BZT + Esava isn't our best back 6, so either one gets left in the SANFL or someone get's tried up forward and only one of the 3 would get pushed forward.

Feels like we need to lose by at least 80 or Hinkley coaches against Melbourne. Even then who knows with this soft **** administration.

Hopefully the lads get on the beers the night before to give us every chance of a blowout.

What does it say about your drafting and depth when you’re still putting games into the corpse of Travis Boak

Not much really. We have players in the sanfl who would contribute as much as, if not more than, Boak rn, but some selectors just can't let go.
