It actually doesn't ease someone into there first game though. The player is sitting on the bench all anxious and full of nervous energy not knowing if they are going to be subbed on in the first quarter due to an injury or sit on the bench until Donuts decides to put them on half way through the last quarter. For a guy whose strength is supposedly people management he's pretty clueless.He said when someone else debuted that sub is a great way to ease into your first game. Terrible opinion, but it's the most thought I've heard Ken put into a tactical decision for years.
A better way would be to start them on the interchange having told them in advance that they will be rotated on around the five minute mark for ten minutes. Depending on how they go, and providing we don't lose more than one player to injury, their game time can then be managed.
