You could have a ruckman as a sub
With the idea of all going well you sub out the other ruck
Maybe it's why they gave boak the rest with the niggle? Trying to minimize risk

Get a fresh ruck in at 3qt

Pretty hard for Whitlock to debut under Ken's dumb you must debut as sub policy. Consistent with his career failing to develop talls, I suppose.

We've gone from 3 KPFs early in the season, to two, and now one plus a second ruck. But so far haven't adjusted the gameplan to reflect that.

Given we're bottom 4 mid-season and have 2 KPFs out long term, the smart play would have been to give Whitlock a taste with Finlayson so he could play as the third tall before winter really set in. There were plenty of opportunities to do that.

Now we'll probably do it out of desperation in a few weeks in a 2 tall setup, really not setting him up for success.

I was wondering how to play the two rucks in wet weather. In dry weather you play both for a full game to take the pressure off Visentini.

Issue is with an early injury in a wet game being possible, unless you use the second ruck as an intercept defender.

The answer is easy, you don’t play two rucks in wet weather.
Actually you don’t play two rucks full stop in 2025.

Dixon would have kicked 150-200 extra career goals if he'd stayed at Gold Coast or gone literally anywhere else. He was a gun, he was just ridden into the ground by the stupid gameplan of a stupid coach.
Yes and no

He was injury prone more than anything, and he didn't make the most of his shots. He could have kicked an extra 50 goals easily with better conversion.

We probably needed to spend less time bombing to a pack but that would have given more goals to others and less to him, which probably would have been better overall for the team.

Didn't someone post here they heard through someone close to Liddy he would be in the 22 (not sub)?

where'd you hear that?
The club has reported it.

"Hinkley returned to the training track on Saturday morning after being a victim of a flu bug that claimed others in the football department and AFL squad at Alberton this week."
