Leon Milde, much loved player in his days but most probably the worst kick I’ve ever seen.Milde and Marrett - what a combo those two were.
Remember him missing one from the goal square at Alberton oval one day.

They are almost at full strength.. be a good win and go to show we might have turned the corner..get smashed and surely he’s sacked immediately./We win if Melbourne have a come down after the close game against the pies. Otherwise they’ll be too good and have been much more consistent than us.
Melbourne play a similar congested forward half game to us and will try and force use long down the line to Gawn, Lever and May. I would be loading up on flankers for us to encourage a rebounding, running transition game, like what Geelong and Collingwood do to us. Sweet and Visentini to crash into Gawn all day, then have one push forward and one sit behind the ball. Then sub one. Evans to sub, although he isn’t a great sub and better to play a whole game.
So Liddy for Mead. Evans for Boak. Sweet for Finlayson. JHF for Moraes.
Wishful thinking, unfortunately even with a smashing Stinkley will be seeing the year outThey are almost at full strength.. be a good win and go to show we might have turned the corner..get smashed and surely he’s sacked immediately./
He is undroppableMead should have been omitted
Shaping up to go chaos ground ball I reckon. Smaller forwardline to negate Dees inetrcept marking strength. If it rains that maybe helpful as well.Is there a betting market for melb intercept marks?
They’ll be a few lol
You beat me to it. I have no issues with going with just MG. Dirty ball entries on the ground to negate the impact of Lever, May and Gawn. Of course, if we decide to bomb it in high and long then it'd be ludicrous to go with just MG.Shaping up to go chaos ground ball I reckon. We desperately need a fit and firing Luko and Marshall next year. It's hard to deny that the forward line on paper is beneath the standard of an AFL team and the numbers back it up - we average a score of 56 points in our last 5 games.
Basically our only path to victory is to completely dominate the game and even then that path is narrow as we saw against GWS.
I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago. This current forward line is by some distance the worst we have had in the AFL era. In fact it is the worst I can remember in my 45 odd years following the team. That forwardline is about as unthreatening as it gets. With MG as the only genuine marketing target he'll be double teamed out of the game.
A winning score will require Rioli to kick 5 and the non-scoring midfielders to unexpectedly chip in with a couple. Also 3.1 from Rozee at halfback, not 1.3, and Burton/Farrell can't miss when they get a handball 55m out.
Even with them, it's a pretty lacklustre forward line.We desperately need a fit and firing Luko and Marshall next year.
Rotations being sucked up prevents that happening.I like the idea of 2 rucks against Gawn. Relentless tag-team off the bench.
The best forward line we had in the Hinkley era, was Schulz, Westhoff, Monfries, Wingard, Gray and White 2014.Even with them, it's a pretty lacklustre forward line.
Our forward line has been poor for nearly a decade truth be told. We've relied on Dixon, who struggled to play a full season, and even when he did - never really hit the goals he should have. Not once did he kick 50 goals in a season for us.
Gray is the only elite forward we've had in the last 10 years. Nobody else is even close (Rioli at a push but has struggled to stay on the pitch)
I'd like to see them give it a go, and figure out a different way of doing their rotations. More fwd resting for mids, less breaks for half backs etc.Rotations being sucked up prevents that happening.
One ruck and fight it out until the end.
I’d actually like to see the AFL exempt Rucks from the rotation count.I'd like to see them give it a go, and figure out a different way of doing their rotations. More fwd resting for mids, less breaks for half backs etc.
