I wonder if Richards is under any selection pressure. Fumbles a heck of a lot, miskicks a lot including blowing multiple opportunities last week. He has been ok, but i could see him as a small chance to make way for Luko if we were to stay with 2 rucks.
I hope 1 ruck drops out though.
He probably wont, his numbers are high, but personally I don't think he's having any real impact. Worth persisting with at this stage, but if you're looking for an option to go out of the forward line I feel like he is behind a few othersSurprised to see this, thought he has been excellent the past two weeks in particular. He did drop off for a period after a strong start.
I don't think he's under any pressure at all, and if he does get dropped... McEntee will be back.............
Think you're underrating him. His finishing at goal has been poor but he plays a connector role in the forward half. His clean hands, quick hand passes and dinky kicks are elite at releasing players into space. He probably wont, his numbers are high, but personally I don't think he's having any real impact. I can only assume you are talking about Ken Hinkley? He got praised on Agenda Setters tonight and rightfully so.
Richards first half was pretty good I thoughtI wonder if Richards is under any selection pressure. Fumbles a heck of a lot, miskicks a lot including blowing multiple opportunities last week. He has been ok, but i could see him as a small chance to make way for Luko if we were to stay with 2 rucks.

As I posted in the Joe Richards thread, Dane Zorko was a big wrap for Joe Richards on The Agenda Setters. Brisbane see him as an important player for Port.
Tom14's preview for this match on the Brisbane board is something else, a veritable celebration of all Ken Hinkley has done for PAFC.
I find the Richards discussion quite interesting.
Clearly, he is a step above the McEntee, Frank Evans and Narkle merry-go-around so a big improvement on what we had, but do we need someone to push him out of the team before we become seriously good?
In the end, there is a reason he was not getting games at Collingwood. He will do something nice in a game, and I will think this guy is a solid player and then I just won't notice him for the rest of teh game. Might be the position, I guess.
We clearly have much bigger issues at the moment, but I do wonder whether he is part of the next premiership team. Could probably ask the same about Pepper and Darcy Byrne-Jones - although Pepper does bring physicality but not always a brain and Jones takes his opportunities. Maybe we need someone a bit better and just one or at most two of these three.
Yep.I find the Richards discussion quite interesting.

It's a lot to do with the position. They all do a lot of things off the ball that's very important but don't get stats and not always visible on the broadcast. DBJ in particular is quite good at this.I find the Richards discussion quite interesting.

Agreed - but up against the reigning premier is a tough ask for any team at any point.Oddly looking forward to this game. By my reckoning this should be the first game where we are close to full strength and have built up a fitness base similar to other clubs (only took 12 or so weeks!). So a test against the reigning premiers away should tell us (if we had got a few things right) where abouts we would actually be in 2025.
The key for me is that he's made a massive problem go away (McEntee). Whether he's the long term solution or not is a different story, but for where we are in our list build, I think he will do. He is 25, but still only played 23 games, so still some growth you'd imagine.Correct. I think Port has set a low bar for half-forwards and as a result Richards tends to get talked up. He's okay - nothing more, nothing less, and ideally you upgrade okay players to good to very good to elite wherever possible.
