I was there that night and it was the age of Donald Dickie, Bowen Lockwood and Scott Cummings. Cummings(5) and Lockwood(4) booted 9 goals between them and Donald Dickie was rated Port's best on the night. According to my poster Bowen Lockwood, who was recruited from Geelong U19s, started the game on the interchange bench, Lockwood may have been a very good player but for a chronic back injury. Misty water coloured memories of the way we were.

We’re legitimately the only team in the comp that has way too much ego to admit theyre wrong and let a player who has kicked bags of 6 and 7 rot away in the reserves just because we dont think he is part of our future plans and when we do pick him play him in the most useless role to void his talent.
