Agree. We looked competitive in the ruck throughout but neither Vis or Sweet do enough around the ground. Problem is we’re one tall forward short and we need an extra up there to make Geelong’s tall defenders accountable. Unless Marshall goes forward - which Carr won’t do - and BZT back to defence, I don’t know if we have any alternative but to play two rucks.

Just can’t understand how he comes out of a full preseason, where he was favoured with selection for the trial games and a starting round 1 spot, and his form has regressed. Couldn’t mark a ball to save himself. Can’t bend over to pick it up. I know he’s still a young ruck but I’m starting to think his ceiling is a lot lower than I had expected.

I think we might have one eye on trying to win the Showdown the week after.

We’ll show glimpses but Geelong will win by a comfortable 6 or 7 goals.

We are really lacking a key defender and Zerk Thatcher hasn't been horrible at AFL level, just seems to struggle in the SANFL

We need to do something about our wings. The guys we have are almost uncompetitive there, especially Wehr. This will come across as unpopular but Jase also isn't going to make it. Kicking lacks penetration and is very reluctant to straight line the ball when his time comes. Late in the game yesterday there was a contest deep in Hawks forward line and you can see he started in line with the ball and then deliberately moved sideways to reach with his arms only when he saw contact coming and was very lucky not to turn it over. This was not a trait we saw from his dad or uncle

Well Xavier Walsh looks to be playing forward for the magpies but is he up for it? Probably not but something to think about for the future

Mullin will probably go to Butters. They may allow him a quarter and if he's running amok, they will clamp down on him.

Cameron and Neale against Aliir and Marshall is also a slight cause for concern.
