I’m sure it’s already been mentioned in the preceding pages, but why are we allowing Connor Rozee to play through a broken hand while simultaneously picking Jed McEntee?

Is this some typically misguided/performative Koch edict or what, “our supporters expect us to give 110% against the Crows!”, because in any context neither selection makes any sense — McEntee isn’t even a good SANFL player at this point.

You are talking as if we haven’t played kids this year and mcentee and mead are old. They are 24 and 23. Liddy is the same age as Mead. And we’ve brought in a 19 year old Berry.

Liddy was terrible last weekend too. Mead v Lorenz is a coin flip for me and not worth getting worked up about.

I’m still scratching my head about lord playing in a forecasted deluge.
I can't agree with the Lorenz call. Liddy in and out of the side fine, but Lorenz is a 20 year old who's played 5 games, mostly all as sub and looks the cleanest and finds the ball most weeks in the SANFL. It may not translate but we've seen 50 odd games from McEntee and Mead to know they don't perform in these sort of games. Just a waste of time, more so Jed than Mead, he will at least be on the list next season.

Surely Rozee is a late out, need clean hands with a wet heavy ball, and is much more likely to do more damage. Would be negligent of the powers that be to play him.

You’d hope so. Chad Cornes mangled his hand under a pack on a rainswept night at Footy Park and was never the same again — and he didn’t go in with an issue.

28 touches, 9 tackles and 2 behinds in his last 3 SANFL games combined.

What are we doing here.

Are we even sure Mcentee gets delisted? I know it’s a forgone conclusion but nothing would shock me anymore with this club.

It's a great question, why would we even play McEntee if he was going to be delisted?

Is the urge to play him really that strong?

Just checking the SANFL stats I would’ve like to see Tommy A get his chance. Considering this year is a complete waste id like to expose as much talent as we have. Instead, it seems we are destroying the confidence of any young players by the constant omissions.

Let’s just hope they all know they just have to get through the next 5 weeks and that piece of shit will be gone. We all see it here, so there is no way they aren’t thinking the same internally.

Was thinking the same thing. Play Anasta instead of McEntee if you want to drop Williams

The heavy rain caused traffic delays on Friday morning before the announcement came the heavy rain would mean Adelaide Oval will not offer any public parking onsite for Saturday night’s Showdown.
Adelaide Oval chief executive Nick Addison said it would be important for fans to plan ahead and make use of the Footy Express and free public transport. “Saturday night is promising to be another blockbuster, and we can’t wait to welcome fans in to enjoy this great rivalry,” he said.

I saw someone online defending the McEntee selection stating maybe those within the club thought he played really well last week against North.

I mean... possibly if we have incredibly low standards.... but he didn't make the best players on the report from the Club website.

• Hasn’t had 20 touches since Round 13 last year.

• Doesn’t hit the scoreboard.

• Tackles at the minimum rate.

The most baffling selection since Matthew Primus picked Simon Phillips to take on Freo in Perth after getting 2 touches for Norwood the week before.

This weekend Jed McEntee will move to within two games of claiming the Stephens Daniels Trophy as the biggest non performer to post 50 games with the Power.

Just when I thought we had got over Jed McEntee he is back.

I am prepared to give Josh Carr a chance to prove he has what it takes but if Port re sign McEntee at the end of this season Josh will not win any brownie points.

Tommy A hasnt really had a breakout game at SANFL level (i think), i would be more inclined to debut Charleston.
I think Anasta will be a straight delist without playing a game. Low hurt factor with the ball and would seriously struggle with the contested stuff in the AFL.

Charleson has done enough to save his spot, but he picked up an injury a couple weeks back and is playing through it. Don't think he will debut this year.
