love it: "i know you guys are looking for an answer" especially the dude in the first minute,

threw out the "must win" to him, and he effectively said each week is preparation for a win

"what's the magic?" what in the **** are you on about?

"would you have stayed?" "don't ask stupid questions"

Would have preferred to see Hosie playing instead of Taylor last round and, if Wood is still not right, would like to see him in for the Lions.

Durdin had a week off and is needed for their talls. Wouldn't have an issue with BMac being given the nod either, as reward for form.

Higgo automatic if passes the fitness test.

In: Higgins, Durdin/BMac, Wood/Hosie
Out: Hrovat/Ahern, LMac, Taylor

Don't mind the idea of Xerri on debut as forward/ruck if Larkey needs the week off.

This is what I see happening

In Wood Higgins Durdin
Out Taylor Hrovat Lmac

We've really missed Higgins the last few weeks. Would do wonders for Cunnington and Simpkin.

Was unhappy with Jmac overall (just seemed exactly the same player as before he was injured AKA not a defenders arseh*le, no offence), and Taylor was obviously a misfire too. Hrovat was... Hrovat? Some really nice skill execution in the front half, but for a little bloke he just isn't that fast and his contested work is pretty bad.

Too many permutations to guess as to the team in the end. So much comes down to the health of Higgins, Wood, Larks and maybe even a few others. Ideally would like to see Durdin return though, LDU too considering he smashed it in the VFL. Higgins is a guarantee to be in if he's fit, Wood would almost certainly be too, though they may want to ease him in via the VFL perhaps?

Will be an interesting selection this week though. We still going to try and push hard to scrape in via a miracle, go full 'play the kids' mode, or somewhere in between where we try to put nearly our best team out while being circumspect with injuries and niggles etc,

Brisbane Lions

Get them in: Veteran Luke Hodge had the feet up for a rest last week but is ready to return against North Melbourne. The NEAFL team had a bye at the weekend.

Under the pump: Only two matches in, and he was part of a strong back-seven against Port Adelaide, but Marcus Adams is still finding his feet. Zac Bailey is also struggling a touch.

Medical room: Classy midfielder Hugh McCluggage (hamstring) and tall forward Eric Hipwood (knee) both have to pass tests but are a chance to play after missing last weekend.

Verdict: A lot will depend on the fitness of McCluggage and Hipwood. If they're available, it would come at the expense of either Bailey or the unlucky Ben Keays to cover McCluggage and Josh Walker for McCluggage, who both performed adm
irably against Port. Hodge's return will mean either Adams or Ryan Lester will have to make way, depending on defensive match-ups. – Michael Whiting

I can't see them risking a hammy when they're entrenched in the top 4 at round 18.

He aggravates again now, and they would have to spell him for a month.

Calls to rush back Higgins although desperately needed are fraught with danger I think. I want him fit and firing and if that means another week or 2 that's fine by me. Further damage will see him out for the rest of the year and a delayed start for pre-season which we definitely don't need.
And in the team report it says Larkey has had another bout with his heart palpitations- when did he have the first one? That's a worry too, don't need him collapsing playing footy like the guy at St Kilda. I am really surprised there isn't a lot more said about this.
Definitely want LDU back and hopefully he will have the same impact Simpkin did after his stint in the 2's. Durdin and/or McKay for JMac and I would like to see Hosie too
