In: Oliver Brown Bowey
Out: Pickett Smith Spargo

Pickett needs 20 touches and 2-3 goals at Casey. Needs a rocket.
Man, you really love Brown.

I think he's injured... and at this stage he's way down the pecking order anyway... but I admire your tenacity.

I’m going to need a lot of tupperware to store all the servings of humble pie coming my way.

* I hope we beat Geelong, playing down there sucks, we never win, but after that performance against Collingwood, would be disappointed if we didn't give them a shake.

In: Oliver, Bowey
Out: Spargo ???
If we play with that intensity I think we should beat Geelong but you can't help thinking it's just going to be a loss. A win would really be a good way to set up the latter part of the season.

If us and Port could knock off Geelong in the next two weeks it would make finals difficult for them. They have a lot of home games in the back halc but they are against a fair few teams vying for finals.

Out: Sparrow, Spargo

This is unlikely to happen but I'd love Bowey to take Spargo's role. Our defence is pretty settled with the three talls plus Salem, McVee, Hibberd, Rivers/Brayshaw and I think Bowey could make a big difference to our mid-forward connection if he played closer to goal.

Oliver in is a given and I think Sparrow makes way even though he's been slowly improving through the year. A full game as a mid at Casey won't hurt him.

Oliver in is a given and I think the poorest performer was Spargo and maybe maybe Hunter.

I like the idea of Bowey taking Spargo's role or at least trying it out. But Bowey looked like he was really starting to excel in his defensive role (but having Salem back in might override that).

I think it is a quite defensive role they are getting Sparrow to play so it is hard to judge with him (for myself) I feel.

I have a feeling someone is going to miss out though just for team balance.

We need hard men like my boy Lachie Head Hunter to scare the opposition. Brings an intimidation factor. Cats players will be shitting themselves all game wondering who hes going to clean up next.

Delivers even bigger hits on the footy field than he does to parked cars

Love what hes done for us..the cheeky run off the bench against Hawthorn, hell smash some blokes fairly when he gets the chance, that suspension against Port was bullshit. Been a better pick up than Grundy and I havent minded Grundy.

Dunno if its just a new club first year thing and it wont last but hes changed the perception I had of him as a player. Bit of classy Tom Bugg about him, a trouble maker, ****ing loving it.

Our second wing was a massive weakness last year. Destroyed our ball movement when teams forced us to kick to Jordon. We look way more balanced with Hunter there.

He’s honestly had a much better year than Langdon too.

His disposal and inside 50 entry hasn’t been as good as I was expecting but he wins a lot of really critical balls that Langdon, Brayshaw and Jordon wouldn’t, definitely didn’t realise how hard at it he is

IMO he has dropped off with his kicking efficiency, as he's been checked more closely, around Wing/HBF.
IMV, our defenders generally are under more pressure this year, than recent seasons.

This in turn hurts our transitioning, and therefore our forwards struggle more. And offers more to our small forwards that it does to our talls. But recently it seems we have struggled to bring ball to ground in a useful manner.. when we bring ball to ground inside F50, it drops too close to the talls, which is easier for opposition defenders to tie things up, or to clear it themselves. Harder for our smalls to operate without any space around them.

We need the ball to land 8 to 12 metres away from the aerial contest. IMV.

Our mids struggle when ringed by opponents at the centre bounce, and stoppages. And our small-forwards like wise, get pressed and struggle when ringed by defenders.
We need to clear the ball just right, around 10 metres from the contest. Then we can hit the ball on the move. And dish-off when appropriate.

I think we need more height this week.
The Cats short defence covers our short forward-line, And i think our 2 tall defenders can also be stretched by the Cats forwards.

I want Petty back in to help JvR. Keeping Thommo in... If Thomo struggles, switch them. We also have the Sub to use, as well.

Spot on SugarH!

Petty or Brown or maybe even the Schachmeister. Some height, marking and goal kicking power sorely needed. Van Rooyen also being asked to carry far too heavy a load for a 20yo, 11 gamer. Give him some support Goody for Fuchsache!

Too many smackings at the Cattery to be confident. Not the end of the world if we lose, but I want to see some momentum from the Pies game. 8 goals last two weeks. We're gonna need to improve on that significantly to be a chance against the Cats. Fn hate how we have to go down there every single season.

I've been pretty happy with his disposal with time, he's still mostly snapping off the boundary tho. Lefty bias but I've quite liked him. Even seems like a bit less of a ducking campaigner here. (this is obviously not true)

Probably bias here but it feels like he ducks but still tries to move the footy. He dips the shoulder and drops his head to keep his arms free he doesn't just dip and give up which is what I hate.

Probably halfway between the Selwood style milk the shit out of it but have a backup handball plan and the Pickett/Spargo - shit I got caught gunna hope I duck free out of it.

He definitely does it less now it doesn't get called as often.

Geelong this year are worse than they were in 2021, and nowhere near their 2022 form. I expect a win.
