I don't think taking a lot time away from the club would do Oliver much good at all. I think he would struggle without the support and direction a footy club can provide.

I'm not sure they will ask him to step away from the club. I think having him around the group is important. But I'm talking more in regards to playing senior footy. That could be detrimental to his mental health as well, but we've played along for 18 months now, so surely with him putting his hand up, as a club we now focus on getting him back to a fitness level where he can run out a game? Might not be capable this season to do that, but surely now he's put his hand up to say he's struggling, we as a club now have a right to say hey, let's get you right in a fitness capacity.

Or if he is keen to play and get on top of it, play him in the 2s for a bit where he can work on his form with less performance pressure. Give him a goal to strive for, might even help.
