Out:
  • Henderson. He has had 5 weeks. Does not look like an AFL player to me. Give him time at Casey to work on his craft
  • Either Viney or Oliver. I don't care which. The game has changed and we can't carry both of them in the same side. Neither of them have scope to play in another part of the ground.
  • JVR. He is horrible at the moment which is frustrating when we know he can be better. Is he playing hurt or out of form? If hurt, then rest him. If he is out of form, send him to Casey until he is kicking bags every week and re-discovers his swagger.
  • Melksham. He is fine, but he's old. The season is a write-off. Play the kids and see who is ready to take the next step.
  • T-mac. Same reasons at Melksham above. Maybe give him and Melk a send-off game on King's Birthday (so they can get chaired off in front of a crowd)
  • Sparrow. He is not half forward. Move him or drop him. I think a defensive running Brayshaw-style winger might work for him, he has the work rate for it and his disposal is just as bad!

In:
- Who cares? Our depth is not all that deep. Maybe throw in a couple of debutants for the warm fuzzy feelgoods on social media!

Changes to the game generally:
  • Try Rivers in ANBs old role. We have too many unaccountable HBF at the moment. This might get him to more CBAs. And he can roost the ball 55-60m when on the run so we don't have to worry about improving the quality of the delivery to our forwards.
  • If not Rivers, maybe Windsor? He showed he has goal sense last year.

Should be a BIG crowd this week. :gigglev1:
If you go to the game and you're not bringing kids or visiting the city and it's an opportune time you're part of the problem. Drop yourself

One club studied the vfl and werribee looking for players and took him at 41, we panicked and took a player the eagles were looking at to start games for us.

Our drafting is overrated is my point and I'll do a Bluelegs about it if I have to

Can’t believe I agree with you.

Other issue is our clubs complete disrespect for 2nd and 3rd round picks these last 5 years.

Other then Verrall and Howes, who else have we taken in that range over the past 5 years?

We love pissing those picks away in lopsided pick trades or trash players from other clubs.

Thats the range we need to find our solid B grade players but instead we now have absolute trash D grade players.

Has resulted in a huge list gap we have now especially since we lost a lot of B - C grade role players in Harmes, Jordan, Brayshaw, Bedford, Hunt ect and replaced them with trash.

I'm going for the nostalgia factor. Will be reliving my early 20s.

Will be impossible to not see you there, then, given we'll be the only two!
Was thinking of having a decaf. Hopefully they don't run out! 🤞

If you go back 10 years the only decent 2nd and 3rd round picks we have landed is Rivers and Fritsch. Some might argue Petty.

Our list has been savaged and now we are paying the price.

Cause our stupid club didn't grasp reality that we were a declining team. Worst thing you can do as a professional club is to overestimate and mortgage the future for it.
Dan Houston would have been our Tim Kelly trade equivalent. Even without that we are no better placed than the eagles going forward

I really like Lindsay, he will be a nice player but we gave up a shitload to get our hands on that pick - definite top 3 pick this year plus multiple second and third rounders.

We need to hold on to our future picks like our lives depend on it from now on, and hope like hell the Tassie team entry is delayed.

Out:
Max - Our other options can't do much worse.
Oliver - Ditto, marked as never to return
Viney - just occupying precious bench space, marked as never to return
Fritsch = needs the break in the VFL

And May will probably be suspended.

In: whatever we've got

Really doesn't matter lol

Henderson, Sharp, Salem, Bowey, Turner, Melksham, Sparrow, Howes, Spargo etc all a bunch of guys not getting a game in a current top 8 contender.
You underestimate the impact of the coaching group.

Great coaches can get the exceptional from the ordinary.

Rarely do I agree with Cornes, but I agree when he says:

“This team is totally unwatchable. I think it’s time we need to talk a full clean-out, from coaches, assistants, list managers and some big-name players. You’ve got to rebuild around the promising kids."

Imagine a forwardline containing all of Sharp, Henderson, Spargo and Chandler.

Combined they got 1 goal last week. Talk about a bunch of plodders.
