A question - If Pyke was sacked on Monday - who takes over? Godden? Matter? Hart? Pretty bare closet there.

Nope there is only one the answer, the one consistent in a decade of cr@p

You'd have to give it to Clarke, he has proven credentials

And we still won by 104pts, proving Campo to be correct...

You conveniently leave that little fact out, when quoting Cripps' figures.
Fantastic attitude, let things slide because other areas make up for it. I wonder what has occurred when we don't tag and other areas haven't covered it. Hmmmm

Also as a follow up. It doesn't prove Campo correct, it just means that in that particular instance it didn't matter to the end result.

Those aren't the same things.

Pyke is contracted until the end of 2021.

Win, lose or draw he's still going to be coaching us next season.
Club cares more about membership. If membership projections are bad and if we don't win another game this season which is a possibility he may be gone at seasons end. I would be surprised if both Ross Lyon and Pyke are coaching at their respective clubs next year. Pyke will definitely coach out the season even if we got smashed by the blues and saints in consecutive weeks.

Be careful what you wish for folks...

I know we all like to hang shit on Campo, but history says he's the only coach since 2002 that's coached us to a finals victory in Victoria

Essendon, like Port, Geelong, West Coast realised that we were throwing numbers into contests and getting sucked in, so they let us and positioned for easy transition on the outside.
100%

If the mids can't win it at the source that's on them, stop throwing all your eggs in one basket

But in the 3rd quarter when it turned south we had just 5 x I50’s.

That’s not a failure to hold it in, it’s not even getting there.

But you know... A grade midfielders
As I said, on their own they all are. System is broken

You can't prove that it didn't matter.
I think you're taking the wrong thing from my post.

But yeah I'm pretty happy going with the assumption that a bloke running wild for the oppo didn't matter when we won by 104 points, in that it didn't remotely impede us from winning.

That is my point though, it doesn't matter that not tagging Cripps didn't matter in that result, as the important factor is the tagging, we don't tag and it loses us other games where we don't dominate the opposition elsewhere.

It is very selective and shows a lack of commitment from the club, this lack of commitment is borne out in inconsistent performance over numerous seasons.

Eddie could still have had an impact this season but needs to be used wisely. Not playing every game, not out of the goal square and standing underneath high balls. We've used him as dumbly as possible.

I like how we interchange Eddie and Murphy as our preferred aerial target in any outnumbered contest in our forward line.

Thing that shits me is we have been doing it for years under Campo, only difference is we have players now that are older, in worse form and we lack the rebound legspeed we had in 2017.

It is as much a coaching issue as it is a personel issue.

We are not ruthless as a club and this is reflected in everything we do.

Half measures is what we are about. All these people, players, coaches can want to win, believe they want to win and that they are doing everything they can, but when we engage in ******* selections, ******* hiring and ******* mindfulness (lessness) cults while ignoring fundamentals of competition like tagging, and negating your opposition because it doesn't fit our predetermined footy ideologies, then all that want and belief counts for shit.

Seriously disappointed in Don... I thought he had more football acumen and intelligence but the way in which he is going is just bizarre. Maybe he is trying to get sacked? 🤷‍♂️

I sincerely hope that this is just a matter of getting through the rest of the season before a full on rebuild/list upheaval takes place, but in saying that, that still doesn’t excuse the terrible selection policies at present. If he is unable or unwilling to see the obvious, he honestly needs to go, along with several of his offsiders. This is just madness now.

I think im frustrarated and angry at the lack of pride for the jumper, the players at the moment are just 24 individuals doing their thing, there's no desire, want or Passion but there's a shit ton of 'meh, that'll do' eg im gonna stick my arms out to make it look like im trying to smother but I know full well im not gonna get near it and im not about to dive and risk injury just to do it.

Ive never seen one of our players attempt to do what Heath Shaw did to Riewoldt on the goal line of that 2010 grandfinal, that's what wins games and gives your team belief, that you have people willing to scrafice everything just to stop a goal.

The GPS data which proves that we are the laziest team in the AFL is just a number too.

The shrinking number of weeks until Pyke gets sacked because he’s lost the players is also just a number.

The rhetoric coming from the coaching panel is ****ing unbelievable at present.

There is so much evidence to suggest we have massive problems - fitness, gameplan, commitment, intensity, structure; just about everything....

And yet, they keep telling us everything is fine, not to worry, and that the FREQUENT IDENTICAL ****ING LOSSES are just an anomaly...

What the hell are these guys doing?

Getting themselves fired. Hopefully soon.
