Roo’s obviously told match committee to go all in to make the 8 after that win against Geelong, Roo’s takeaway from round 1 would’ve of course been senior players get the job done.
Rushing Talia back next week off no pre-season as well now we’ve got a sniff of finals

Garbage. It was blindingly obvious to anyone with half a brain that Mackay & Murray were the obvious inclusions.

Of course, having half a brain would require posters to be able to look beyond their own biases and see the real world as it actually is - not how they wish it would be.

A 33 year old David Mackay is an inevitable selection not an obvious selection

We have nearly half the team with 10 games or less experience and people are getting annoyed about us replacing a senior player in Brown with another senior player in Mackay. We already have one debutant back there in Murray, I don't think its that big a deal that we chose Mackay over Worrell for the other spot. Worrell will get his chance sooner or later.

He's not replacing Brown, he's just assuming his best 22 position once more after returning from that nasty concussion over the pre-season

When Brown and Kelly are fit again, it'll be someone else making way

Mackay isn't good enough of a footballer for his experience to be worthwhile.

He's good enough to be a medical sub, but that's more because there is no point wasting anyone else in that role.

Not sure what all the fuss is about - we should be happy that the club is giving the rookie listed guys a go
This team contains 9 players with less than 10 games experience, 11 with less than 15, and 3 with 0 or 1 games... and people are still bitching that a senior player is replacing another senior player. Some people will never be happy.

Don't know what people are complaining about, David Mackay is a veteran 220 game defender. I, for one, am looking forward to him going head to head with Tom Papley. He should easily be able to shut him down, what with all his experience.

Breakout year.

So who would you suggest for the role that wasn't in last week's team?

I mean surely we didn't bring in a 220 game player to play a defensive role on a 2-gamer in Errol Gulden. Surely we wouldn't do that. Which is why the Mackay-Papley battle will be so enthralling
The Errol Gulden that pantsed everyone the Premiership contenders Brisbane threw at him, that Errol Gulden?

I have no problem putting Mackay on Papley because Mackay is obviously good enough to stop him. It's a clear and obvious match up that makes total sense and will work
