Thought it was a pretty good game to watch actually, shame we didn't win but we were always behind the 8-ball once Darling went down. Came close though.
Bloody good game. Very tense, finals like atmosphere.

Luke Hodge suggesting their aim is to spoil our finals chances as much as they can,
in other words try to win the game...standard operating procedure in football!
Simmo says "we'll be throwing the kitchen sink at this one.."
I wonder what they threw at the Demons?
(it was a good game, as was Port to re-watch)

JK has the rest of this week then next week and the week after before qualifying final. Thats another 3 weeks on top of what he has missed. Surely he will be good to go then.
He confirmed he will be good on 6pr so he said and i quote I will be ready for 3, 4 or 5 games

Agreed....Quality game.

It also felt like the Dees always had first use of the ball, especially at bounce down. (Gawns tap work was insane, we really needed NN for this one)
If we were able to repel their attack, we'd score on the rebound. Thus we were always in the defensive position to begin with and on the back foot from first bounce.
I was always worried about this game against the Dees once Nic went down - we had been covering his loss reasonably well up until last Sunday, however without him against Gawn it was a one horse race!

We really need to fix these slow starts which has cost us two games and almost another.
We expect the opposite team to kick long inside 50 and we defend with good intercept marking.
However, knowing our strengths and weaknesses, the opposite team with fast running players often tested us in the 1st qtr by running in group between our loosely defensive spaces. Our midfielders are not fast coupled with not willing to chase offen gave confidence to the opposition to carry the ball all the way into our 50.
That was how we behaved in the Essendon and Melbourne losses.
The danger this week is that Brisbane is a fast running team and Fagan knows very well our weaknesses.

Just as they try to do to us -but against the D's with JD and JK missing we were unlikely to kick a winning score. I thought our players adapted well and will gain from the experience. Being own a rotation all day didn't help but our fitness looked to stand up well.

Yep spot on we fell asleep
I think the underlying factor to the Demons game was the team being sore and battered from
the Port game, a huge finals like game in itself. Coaches don't like to use it as an excuse, but
it did surface during the week from different journos. Most teams are sore this time of
season, including Melb., who had some key players out lets not forget..as we did.

Just saying the team looked sluggish and flat to start with. But we have had some slow starts.
We got beaten fair and square by a desperate team on a mission, with a great midfield.
So that's two games in a row with finals like intensity, now travel to Brisbane and face
a team, with a fast mid, knowing our achilles heel...promises to be a solid game against a team
with 5 wins and 15th on ladder. No way is it guaranteed!

Let’s look at like this and it’s how I think of it

No one bar someone wearing a lab Coast being dragged into mental asylum would have predicted we would be sitting second with a game clear with one game to go against Brisbane

If you had offered that to me before round 1 we would have taken that ...

We have an opportunity to grab second ....against a low side with only 3 big outs ....Kennedy ....NN....GAFF

WE ARE FULL strength besides those three ....

Need to look at where and what we have .....no what has passed ...

We will give it all
