Its not angst, its just a strange decision when he's playing a different role to the guy who's coming in, and there is a guy who's badly out of shape and form still being left in the side.

Well Bennell can't play midfield. Jetta can, in form or not.

Besides, he played 1 game. Not enough to say if he is in form or not. Last week, even Priddis was out of form while Bennell refused to run back after ball lost in forward line.

Expected out for an expected in. Nothing that makes you sit up and think WTF.

Wouldn't mind seeing Cole come in late but, yes we're throwing him in the cauldron but he is the most ready of any draftee that we have and a nice curve ball for the Dockers. Couple of the mids were sore after the Hawks game and not sure about Duggan's ankle.

I never understand fans desire throw completely unprepared draftees into pressure cooker games.

No he would not be a curveball. Odds are he would only get a handfull of possessions, have no impact and be completely overawed by the occassion.

For every draftee that swims ten sink.

Bennell is an obvious out on last week's poor performance. I didn't think he was that great the week before either. A number of other players lucky to retain their place e.g. Butler who has been putrid but nobody really there to take his position.

Dockers wouldn't want a sore Sandilands to go down early in the match

Ross likes it when his players go down on him early....... explains why he has his favourites.

Firstly I wouldn't say he is completely unprepared. He is the most prepared for it out of all our 2015 draftees and even more prepared than draftees from 2014 and 2013, Karpany is a prime example of how far back he is from Cole.

I get what point your putting across, if he has a mare it could kill the kids confidence which we don't want but if we need mids on stand by, which we might do depending on injuries from the Hawks game, there are not to many other AFL listed mids at WAFL level putting there case up for selection right now apart from Hutchings, he is the only regular one over the 3 rounds that has kept his name in selectors minds and was arguably stiff not to get a call up against Hawthorn.

Cole would surely have to be a better option than Colledge is

Smelly Lycett
Thought he was actually ok in the ruck. Not great forward (which is the clear difference with Sinclair). If he'd taken that mark and kicked the goal I reckon most people would've been happy-ish with his game.

Heard Butler on 6PR on the way home and he basically said Masten is crucial to structure due to his running ability and disposal. Doesn't need to rest forward or back and provides massive link-up capability to th eteam - he was always going to be the in.

I suspect this gives us the option to throw Jetta and/or Yeo forward more.

Playing across half back.

Tho a reason why he is more developed than the other is because he played for the cats vfl side and physically more mature than the likes of parto and some others.

Believe Masten makes soft spread butter look hard, but you would think if he was ever to put his head over the ball and take a tackle then this would be the game.

Hopefully has a point to prove to Suban/Freo!
You're nothing if not consistent.

Thats a good point. Hasn't played through the midfield, but at least has shown some composure in his WAFL games. I think long term if we can hold onto them both than one out of Cole and Jacko Nelson will become a midfielder and the other a defender. His exposure at VFL level in 2015 makes him a more attractive proposition than a TAC Cup player only as well yep. Wouldn't say Parto isn't mature either, he played senior SANFL so he's adept to playing with the big guys just hasn't shown as much over pre season as Cole has arguably

I personally will like both to be defenders. bunga is turning 29, butler and ellis injury prone and shaz getting close to 30. in the next few years we will be drafting/recruiting mids any way so theres no rush for them to go to the middle. Jacko can be more of a lock down small and cole can be the rebounding defender as he has the dash and flair to do so. however, both should be developed to push into the middle at times.

true about parto but he looks way too small to be playing on the inside at the moment.

Loved to be proved wrong and be made to eat humble pie.

Only aggression I ever seen from Masten was the last derby and of all things, he had to go and bite Suban and then lie about it.
So he's never had a decent season?
