What part of what he said in that article do you think is past its use by date?

The issue with Blight is that the game has changed dramatically since he coached. Even when he did, the sides he had in Geelong were all out attack and never won anything.

I get what he's saying, but the game in itself prioritises defence a great deal more than it did when he coached.

Atkins represents everything that is wrong with this side. His continued selection is reinforcement of the bad culture and behaviour.

Should never play or the crows again.

I couldn't give a toss how nice a guy his outside of football or who he is mates with.

There is clearly a clique amongst the players that Atkins is a part of that saves his hide every week. I couldn't imagine any other player getting that same treatment.

At least David McKay for all his faults tried his heart out and attack as much as his puny body could.

Not having a go. Just think an insipid effort like last week in our biggest game of the year demanded some consequences for senior players.

Or maybe the club will keep picking the players in the hope their trade value does not fall off a cliff..still does not help the others trying to get into the side especially with no ressies footy this year

Always find it curious the way we discount experience in coaching, when most other professional sports are happy with older coaches.

Sure there’s been some rule changes, but if tomorrow Roo announced Blight was returning as coach I’d be quite comfortable with that appointment.

Most sports don't have rules and regulation changes every year like we do.

Craigy was as important a part of 97/98 as anyone. Now you don't get that kind of advantage. We were fit and professional way beyond our time.

That's the rock and a hard place bit, especially with guys like Brad Crouch.

Not saying he's an idiot at all, far from it. But to suggest having a defensive midfield is a bad thing is s bit off. I'd kill for our guys to show some defence.

We don’t know that.
I think if some of the older coaches longevity allowed the game would be a better spectacle

The bit i liked about Blights rant (which i enjoyed) was do something different. Build your own brand type thing. Ie the game plan looked pretty weak and more of the same.

matt and Brad continue to rack up decent numbers, but that’s the end of it. Our only ball control is our sideways chips between defenders.
