Quite possibly, but our focus needs to be on the best development for Schoenberg, not reducing a big round 4 loss by a little bit.
We sacked all our good development staff.

In case you haven't been watching, our development has been shithouse in recent times and it's not going to get any better playing scratch matches.

His best chance at developing to AFL level in our current situation is experiencing the level.

Team already showing a Pyke type selection. Keays absolutely has to go.
Keays gets this week and then I agree. If he shows no improvement he absolutely should, but it's ridiculous to suggest you can judge a player in a new system after 2 games.

He showed more intensity than most of his teammates too.

Never thought I'd say this but hartigan needs to come in. Our defence is an absolute sh*t show and I think his inclusion may only mean a 50 point loss, instead of a 70 point loss.
I’d rather the 70 point loss than play that hack that can’t kick.

He also showed a fair bit of improvement against Gold Coast.

Although I agree re: Murphy somewhat, i'd be interested to see him actually crumb off of a tall forward rather than literally being the only crow in the forward half getting the ball kicked onto his head.

his lack of competitiveness in a number of 1v1s on the weekend negates any leverage you would normally afford small forwards in a poorly functioning side

What’s the average games played of our team this week? I don’t think I’ve seen a starting 18 that inexperienced in my time following the club

In the Modern era, i can only vaguely recall some of our teams in circa 2011-2014 that were youngish to this extent.....

You can't tell me that Galluci isn't a better option than Keays.

At least Galluci copes with the speed of the game and can deliver inside 50

Let's make that call in 2-3 games.

I am the junior vice president of the Gallucci fan club, but lets give Keays 4-5 games. That's a good sample size for a decision on a player. 2 is not.

There are definitely a few others who should be axed though...

It needs to be even lower. Our senior players are boiled and don't GAF.

We need to start from scratch. Keep Sloane and Talia. The rest can go.

Tex I will always love but his body is beyond cooked.

If we could offer Hurn a strong deal to come home for 2 years and transition to coaching from a winning culture that would be about the best thing we could do at this point in our decline.

Surely its reasonable to give nicks a year before having melts. Give the bloke a chance excute a long term plan. He's already done more for the young blokes than previous coaches.

Its unrealistic to have wholesale changes all in one week. It will take time to transition the best 22, then we can fairly judge him on that.

Personally I'm not overly confident that he has what it takes, but having Fog, Fischer, mcadam, ned, hamill, Jones, himmelberg etc getting regular solid blocks of games is what everyone's been asking for.

I don’t get Gooch not playing at this point.

Are we still building his fitness? He’s a first round pick who showed glimpses last year before being dropped after a game he was concussed in.

At this rate we’re throwing him away for nothing and I can’t help but feel there’s an AFL player there somewhere.

Gooch in next week for Murphy or Keays, surely.

Keen to see McAdam get a run.

It would help to buy in if you could discern any semblance of a gameplan.

All I've heard is contest contest contest and yet we are literally the worst at contest. And effort is at historic lows.

The players clearly a) don't believe in him, or b) don't fear him.

Did you miss the spray Godden gave him earlier in the year?
Entering his fourth year at West Lakes, Godden says the 21-year-old’s “consistency” and “mental application” isn’t at the required level to warrant selection at the present time.

“Jordan just hasn’t quite got to the point where he was up for selection this year. His pre-season has been ok without being to the level that he would like, or we would like at this point,” Godden told SEN SA Breakfast.

“He has still got to work on his consistency so what he does is bits of individual bits of brilliance … but the reality is that the game goes for longer than that, so he needs to keep working on his consistency.

“He is working hard at it, the coaches are working hard with him, but he hasn’t quite made that jump at this stage.

“He is an explosive athlete, so to be able to maintain his effort throughout a day is a difficulty for him, so he is working hard on it and a lot of players are in that same boat. It takes them a while to keep that endurance in their game … and the other side is just maintaining his mental application.

“The game continues, it never stops, whether you’re in defence or attack. Modern day football you have to be up the ground and back down the ground and at times he lapses in applying that.

“He is progressing in that area, just hasn’t quite got to that level yet.”
Gallucci was told, in no uncertain terms, to pull his ****ing finger out and stop coasting. The selection committee won't even consider his name until they see a massive improvement in his application.
