The selection table will be interesting next week.

Obviously a lot of water to go under the bridge, but Eagles is a definite out for a few weeks per Coach Fagan's press conference. Berry may also be under an injury cloud given he went off during the last with a hamstring strain.

Others under the pump for mine include, Oscar McInerney (5 disposals), Zac Bailey (8) and possibly Cam Rayner (10). Guys like Charlie Cameron (9) and Dan McStay (6 and bloody inaccurate) were quiet against the Swans, but are important to our team.

The MRP could look at Robinson, Gardiner or Rich, although they shouldn't have anything to worry about, but who knows with the MRP.

Therefore, at this stage, I'd be going with 3 outs against North with McStay swung back to defence and Walker coming in up forward:

Outs - Eagles (injured), McInerney and Bailey (both omitted)
Ins - Walker, Keays and Bastinac and Mayes as the fourth inclusion if Berry misses.

I watched some of the NEAFL game today and I can report that most of those names were pretty disappointing unfortunately. Basti missed a hell of a lot of easy targets.

I guess we have what we have - Keays was pretty decent and may come in if someone like Bailey gets the chop.

I'd still be keen to see minimal changes - maybe only one other than Eagles. I think he is a massive out as he is one formidable guy to play on.

I'm not a fan of Jack Frost but I think they'll bring him in for Matty Eagles, other than that they wont be making any changes unless another injury pops up IMO.

The players I'd like to see have a decent run in the seniors if an opportunity opens up- Ben Keays, Josh Walker, Cedric Cox, Sam Mayes and Liam Dawson.

Don't mind your changes, but Lester was BOG in first half in twos and has to be the first one in line if Berry misses. Frost might really be the best matchup we have for Brown, as Cockliff38 suggested, especially if we want Andrews to continue with an intercept role. Gardiner to Waite.
Don't see the sense of sending McStay back, if we want him to play forward he should play there all year, if not in the ones then in the twos.
If Mayes gets a run, it won't be based on his game today. Not in consideration for mine.

I can’t see us making any unforced changes.

Wouldn’t be bothered if any of Hodge, Bailey or Rayner were rested.

You would think eagles, berry & Gardiner will be missing. That's probably enough changes unless another injury.

Poor from Gardiner we could really use him vs north. And there's no logical replacement with eagles also out

Gardiner won’t get suspended. Insufficient force.

Baileys been given a good taste of it now and I think he can go back to the seconds and hone his craft for a while now. Shows signs but he's a fair way off being a regular contributor for now.
Agree. Bailey is just not contributing enough at this time. Keays, Mayes and Bell would be better options at this time.

Barring any other suspensions and injuries, I would bring in Frost for Eagles and Bell for Bailey. Would be close to the last chance for both but that is the challenge they should be set.

Would also consider a Walker and BigO swap but probably would keep Oscar this week.

Outs : Eagles, Berry (Both Injured), Bailey (Omitted)
Ins : Frost, Lester, Keays

At this early stage I'm assuming neither of Eagles or Berry will come up. Frost was amongst the best in NEAFL and is a like for like swap (I agree with Comeback Lions that McStay needs to stay forward if that is the role we want him to play long term). Lester was pulled at half time of NEAFL as emergency for the seniors so seems logical he is next up. Keays has been amongst the best a bit this season so deserves a shot, plus the coaching staff needs to know if he is going to become a regular contributor at senior level or not. And again he is a like for like swap with Bailey.

If there is any consistancy gards gets a week. Silly thing to do, maybe he started thinking about Ben Brown and decided he would like a week off. Jeez we need him next week too.

Frost, Lester, Keyes couldnt be less exciting to me.

No way i am dropping Bailey.Fast tracking his development in the senior side.Especially for one of the usual suspects(Lester,Bell or Bastinac).I would bring Allison in for Eagles. If Berry doesnt come up do we look at Keays or one of the above three?

Would Bell replace Bailey as a defensive forward?

Frost has at least another year on his contract and Bell is not elite by foot. Bailey's defensive pressure and speed keeps him in the 1's.

Not sure I'd be resting anyone this week. Missing a couple of blokes through injury as it is (Berry, Eagles), and Beamsy looked a bit stiff post game, not sure if that's anything to be concerned about, but I'm not sure who else you're bringing in from the NEAFL if you're resting blokes on top of that.

I love Nick Robbo just as much as anyone for his effort, gut running and overall his love for the club. But with that said his gut running and effort in particular doesn't count for much if he doesn't make a positive impact on the numerous contests he gets to. The last few weeks his disposal, tackling and decision making has been dreadful. It seems every time he settles into the team, he goes and gets suspended for a week, comes back and then seems to lose whatever semblance of form. Just frustrating me a lot lately.
