However that no longer applies moving forward. This team (and the coach) has to learn to play with expectations. It’s what stands Geelong and Collingwood apart. I'm still a believer in Buss adding to the backline. I think he can co-exist with Lobb and JOD there. May even free up Lobb to be more intercepting.

Freijah to move back. He's been down for 3-4 weeks now. A move might help him. If not then Williams could move back or potentially Treloar.

Love Davidson on the wing. There are so many strengths to his game and the requisite composure under pressure will only come with experience at the highest level under the highest pressure — I reckon he’s a fast learner too. Let him make the wing his own.

If Treloar is back I think it’s worth rotating him and Freijah off HB and at CBAs.

Freijah should go back to half back most of the time with Treloar’s return. Our defence has looked shaky given we can’t seem to find a consistent combo amongst guys like Cleary, Baker, Duryea & Gallagher.

Just let Joel settle in that role for the next stage of his career. We all know he can be a midfielder long term but it’s best for the team right now.

A couple of Hawks supporters are worried about Battle and Barass being out of form and the chemistry with those two as well as Sicily, Scrimshaw and Jiath all in the backline together isn't great.

Reading between the lines, there's a fair chance one of Sicily, Barass or Battle won't play because Hardwick trained in defence this morning.

It would make absolutely no sense for the Hawks to go super tall in the backline against us. I hope they do because they'll be way too top heavy with only Naughton and Buku as our tall fwd options.

Imagine the pressure on them when they lose to Adelaide the following week.

Hawks are horribly out of form. A game style will only get you so far. When you're exposed, you need the cattle to turn it around. I'm not convinced they have the cattle. A few of their players have gone backwards.
