So Doedee said it on the radio, himself, but it's not true... is our future captain already a liar?
Because random people on the internet are always correct with their intel.
Doedee said what he had to say. He passed all concussion tests, but is unable to play because the AFL declared he had to be put on concussion protocols.

FTR I'm more than happy for him not to play. Being cautious with any possible head injuries is good. I want to position us for a better draft pick and I'd like to see Ben Davis play 3 consecutive games to get a bit of a look at him before we make the final call on him.
So I'm more than happy if we chose not to play him.

I'm not happy the AFL made that decision and we didn't. Would they do that if the same thing happened to Jake Lever in the finals? Of course not.

He's not going to slam the AFL on the radio. These things are always managed to within an inch of their life. It's not lying, it's message management. There's a difference.

Of course they would. Take off the tin foil hat.

We literally played an injured player as a sub this year, and are currently playing an old guy with a broken finger because he wants to.

How can we be trusted to make the right decision?

The AFL has done a lot wrong but their concussion protocols this year have been bang on.

I believe that Tom wants to play, thinks he should and the club agrees

But Dr Carl with his extensive medical knowledge also believes that blurred vision immediately following a massive impact collision means that "something's a bit ****ed up" and having a week off is probably wise.

The AFC would be absolutely devastated that in a winnable home game we can't field our strongest team

If the AFL want to force our best defender out, they can't ask questions about tanking when a woefully out of form WCE belt us by 10 plus goals....

I thought it odd him saying not playing after passing the test.

It's very possible that Tom and the club might have decided not to play regardless, but it was the AFL that declared he had to go on concussion protocols, not the club.
It's actually a pain as there are a number of steps you have to tick off in the 12 day protocol. So once he was put on it, he has to follow it through, despite having zero symptoms and not being concussed.

As I said, I'm very much ok with Tom not playing. I don't like the AFL overriding the club and it's doctors when you know they won't do it come finals time.

I don't agree, but let's wait and see what happens in the finals.

Keays, Laird, Seed, Butts and Smith to all have concussions the week of the Hawthorn and North Melbourne games?

Yeah... i find it very hard to believe Tom wasnt concussed at all in that collision..
Especially as the lad himself said he had blurred vision after it..

definitely should be undergoing concussion protocols/assessments.

sometimes you can get delayed concussion. i got this once when playing football at high school.. copped a head knock on a Saturday during a game.. felt completely fine after it until around the following tuesday when I woke with an enormous headache and dizziness..

1 visit to the doctor and I was diagnosed with delayed concussion. Took three days before I started to recover from it.

I’d say the possibilty of delayed reaction could be the reasoning behind the assessment occuring over a 10 or so day period after the incident..

this concussion shit needs to be taken very seriously.. no possible risk at all taken.

nobody is going to ask questions about tanking. It's not happening at the AFC and nor is it happening elsewhere. Clubs that win 5 from 15 don't then start to lose deliberately, they keep losing because they're just not good enough.

Could we bring all of Tex, Lynch and Fogarty into the side this weekend?

(Standby for Tex and Lynch to come in while Fog stays in the reserves - classic Adelaide move in a ‘rebuild’)

Just read Nicks' totally bullshit explanation as to why Fogarty didn't replace Walker. Said he wasn't in bad form, just wanted a different dynamic ahead of the ball. **** me, Himmelberg and Frampton, the dynamic duo. It does make sense though, Nicks wants only deep entries, he seems terrified of players trying to hit up leading targets 40m out. So going with 3 KPF/2nd rucks makes sense given his strategy of preferring deep entries to contests.
