I really hope Gollant and Parnell are kept on, need to develop but I like the look of both, esp Parnell. Strachan also looks to be winning some support. I think Davis and O'Connor should be worried.
I think there is close to zero chance Gollant and/or Parnell get delisted. Both are very much worth further investment.

Gollant and cook both had quieter games on the weekend which was a bit dissapointing..

Can say that I thought young Newchurch had a pretty good game though.. actually saw him put a lot more effort into pressuring opponents in the forward line and tackling.. kicked three goals too... one from a nice lead up and mark. He’s got a nice leap on him and anyone that watches his crumbing goal will tell you the blistering pace he has.. he left every other player in the race for the ball for dead just a second or two after the race for it began!..

Not sure he’s ready yet though and would like to see him take that weekends game and improve on it from now until the end of the year and the next preseason.

He's not ready yet. On the tackling, he did one very good wrapup on Saturday, only to give away a free for absolutely nothing. Bloody umpires!

I’ve been one of those saying we’ve moved on past Lynch, but in the absence of Tex last week we could have used someone experienced who could lead up to the wing and take a contested grab. Or even an uncontested one!

On that basis, if Tex is still out I’d expect T-shirt Tommy to come in
Having one experienced forward would help the others develop IMO.

What it comes down to is who out of Davis, Gollant, O'Connor, Parnell, Strachan goes first at season's end, can't keep them all unless some of the elder statesmen are jettisoned.....Davis has to be the most likely?
Davis and O’Connor for me and maybe Strachan if a better option becomes available ( would like to give him a game before end of season though as has good sanfl form )

After watching the highlights Cook I reckon would be a good in alongside Lynch and FOG.

I would drop TT back, he needs the confidence and Seed may miss. Sloane should book in for surgery (but won't) and I think Pedlar will miss which he shouldnt

Gut feel is we do with Strachan what we did with Hunter, re-draft him for one more year

Unless there's any other state league rucks that look promising this year?

We've turned over a lot of our list over the last couple of years and we'd lost a few of the 25 year olds prior. I think we'll be going with the minimum changes to keep the group together and maximise experience and continuity. There is no way the club will want to risk another bottom 4 finish. And the way they'd ameliorate that risk is to remain as experienced as possible. I'd thought that only 1 of Lynch and Mackay would get an extension, but after Friday, if we don't put up something decent over the last weeks, then both of those will be locked into 2022.

Anyone know if public tickets are available for this one or will be later in the week?

If it's only yourself and 1 other, I just collected my tickets that I most certainly won't use. Section 105, row K, seems about 10 rows back on the western wing. Your's for $0, you will just need to PM me your mobile number and hope that I don't drunk dial you one night. That said, you need only block my number after receiving the tickets. And my partner's, which I will also provide out of good faith.

Like it or not, Lynch is an absolute lock to return to the seniors this week. Personally, despite his shortcomings, I think he will improve our capacity to score, so I’m ok with that, especially if it’s at the expense of someone like Rowe or Frampton. Realistically, he probably replaces Pedlar. In fact, outside of Doedee being a definite out due to injury, I’d say the 2 most certain things this week are Lynch in, and Pedlar out.

Walker is obviously a lock to return if fit. Not sure if he will be fit, but let’s call that a 50/50 at this stage. He probably replaces Frampton or Rowe (we went with one fewer tall against ESS and it was a disaster so Walker for Rowe is it out of the question) if he comes in.

McAdam is some sort of chance of returning despite not really doing anything at SANFL level. The lack of pace outside of Murphy up forward is hugely concerning. If nothing else, he offers that. Rowe is about as quick as Sauce Jacobs, is completely uncompetitive in marking contests, isn’t kicking goals and needs to be dropped NOW.

Himmelberg is also some sort of chance to come in, considering he was actually selected to play against Ess. This becomes more likely if Walker doesn’t get up.

Fogarty is another with a decent show of coming back in the week. Again, more likely if Walker doesn’t get up, but not out of the question to bring both of them, AND Lynch back in.

It will be fascinating to see if anyone else is in the selection frame this week. Arguments can be made for any of Worrell, Gollant, Cook, Strachan, Newchurch and maybe even McPherson, McAsey or Hately. Personally I think Davis was only selected as sub because we wanted every other fit player getting a full game in at either level, so he’ll either go straight back out again or remain the sub.

You could make arguments for dropping / managing all of the following players from last week’s 22: Sloane (finger), Keays (hand / potentially needs a spell), Rowe (should have been dropped 3 weeks ago), Frampton (awful at football), Pedlar (has had a taste, isn’t quite ready), Berry (had a shocker but should have credits in the bank), Hamill (didn’t actually get selected against ESS until the 11th hour so maybe Berg comes straight back in for him), Mackay (time to move on), McHenry (had an absolute shocker, plus maybe needs a spell), Kelly (still killing forward momentum and doesn’t suit our game plan for mine), Murray (struggles against genuine talls and required to play on genuine talls) Thilthorpe (may benefit from a spell), O’Brien (see Thilthorpe). Plus we have the definite out in Doedee, and another potential out in Seedsman, although my gut feel is that Seed will be fine. Obviously some of those guys will stay in.

Realistically I don’t think we have ever or will ever make more than 5 changes under Nicks, regardless of how many of those are comprised of injuries.

So, my best guess for what will actually happen (not what I would do) is…

Out: Pedlar, Rowe, Doedee (inj), Frampton, Hamill

In: Lynch, Walker*, Worrell, Himmelberg, McAdam

*Fogarty in place of Walker if Tex doesn’t get up

**Hamill retains his place if Seed doesn’t get up

B: Kelly - Butts - Jones
HB: Worrell - Murray - Smith
C: Seedsman - Keays - Sholl
HF: Berry - Walker - Lynch
F: Murphy - Thilthorpe - Himmelberg
R: O’Brien - Laird - Schoenberg
Int: Sloane, McAdam, McHenry, Mackay

Emg: Strachan, Hamill, Hately, Fogarty

For what it’s worth, I would play either of Gollant or Fog instead of Himmelberg because I don’t believe in the 3 dinosaur forward setup (and at least Fog can kick accurately, while Gollant provides much needed x-factor), and I’d chuck Newchurch in for McAdam, purely because both McAdam and Rowe have already proven that they don’t currently belong in the AFL side and for all we know Newchurch might be one of these types who fits in better at AFL level than SANFL level.

Hmm… You do realise you are a good chance of winning this week right 😂
Sad to say that even if the changes made as suggested by Scorpus above, it will be a very close run thing! What a mess 🤦‍♂️

NicNat's 200th. You lot should come out firing.

Is it? Put money on the Crows then, our record in big milestone games is horrific.
I would love for us to put in a special effort for him, he is the heart and soul of our club. Unfortunately most of his self satisfied “teammates” couldn’t give two s****. Forgive the bluntness 😂

What's the feels on Davis? I'd like to see him get a run of 3 full games. Didn't get to see enough of him last week as I was busy with my hands covering my eyes

He'll have a nice SANFL career, that said, there really isn't much there that indicates he'll have an AFL career.
