How do you fix decision making and skills in less than a week?

Can you change a game plan in a short week and just say attack the corridor at all cost don't worry about making an error just fight for you life to fix the error if you can. Trust your teammates to get the job done

I know it's not realistic by any means, but this is what I'd like to see this week;

FB: Michalanney/Borlase/Worrell
HB: Nankervis/Keane/Parnell
C: Dawson/Soligo/Rachele
HF: Cook/Gollant/Keays
FF: Rankine/Fogarty/Burgess
Fol: ROB/Crouch/Dowling
Bench: Laird/Hinge/Jones/???
Sub: McHenry

In: Dowling, Nankervis, Cook, Gollant, Parnell

Out: Milera (knee), Murphy (knee), Smith (omitted), Walker (back), Pedlar (managed), Sholl (omitted), McHenry (sub)

Dowling to play on Oliver, Cripps/Walsh, Merrett, LDU, Butters across the next 5 weeks. Blight did something similar with McLeod in his early days (on Buckley, Hird and Voss), and it was pretty effective.

Laird doesn't attend a stoppage when Crouch is present. If he can't have a positive impact in the back 6, drop him.

Give Pedlar a week or two off.

Jones doesn't look quite right, but I'd give him a couple more weeks.
I'm not sure who gets the final bench slot. Taylor or Bond maybe?

Agree with this. Looking at the game analysis from different pundits it seems the obvious issue across the ground but particularly out of stoppages is players aren't instinctively giving the ball, particularly by hand, to players in better positions. When they do, we're seeing a lot of skill errors. We're reactive and passive. That's not something you can turn around in five days.

The only way is to take risks and hope they come off. And when they don't, get back up and try again. But I don't think that's the message they're being given, at least not yet.

FB: Worrell ~ Butts ~ Smith
HB: Hinge ~ Keane ~ Michalanny
C: Nankervis ~ Dawson ~ Jones
HF: Bond ~ Walker ~ Rachele
FF Rankine ~ Fogarty ~ Pedlar
Fol: ROB ~ Crouch ~ Soligo
Int: Dowling ~ Burgess ~ Laird ~ Keays
Sub: McHenry / Berry

Out: Milera, Borlase, Murphy, Sholl
In: Dowling, Bond, Nankervis, Butts

Really bottom of the barrel stuff I know. They wont drop Smith with Milera and Murphy out (you know, experience and all..), even though he should be learning all about SANFL venues for 2024. Reward form and bring in Dowling, Bond and Nankervis. I still think we need Pedlar, even though he had a shocker, so keep him in instead of Sholl.

One way is to have a blank white board - well not totally blank - Have Fun should be the only words written on it

If they need anymore instruction then what are they retaining as knowledge?

Maybe a few more words above the door - kick towards our goals

I kind of feel like Rachele needs to be dropped as well. He is honestly turning into a lazy / selfish player. I know they will never do it, but he needs to become humble again.
We should be celebrating those who have the courage to try things not banish then cos they dont "look" like they are trying.

Fact is those who are more talented tend to make things look easy.

You shouldn't confuse this with ability.

Why expend any more effort than necessary to complete the job?

He has tremendous ability, dont get me wrong..but how many games has he actually impacted in the last season? He doesnt make any second efforts, he constantly burns players in better positions. All the talent in the world is great, but when you become too individually focussed, and do nothing for the team, perhaps you are entitled to automatic selection?

In: Curtin, Nankervis, Taylor, Dowling, Edwards, Cook.

Out: Milera, Murphy, Smith, Laird, Crouch, Tex/Burgess

Let's play all our youth. Dowling in the middle, Edwards takes Mileras spot, Curtin takes Smiths spot, Nankervis on the wing, Cook takes Murphy's spot, and we go with an entirely different forward structure, smaller with more crumbers and defensive pressure.

Conservative nicks will make two changes no doubt. No way laird or crouch gets dropped. But they definitely should.

Yep they're being coached to slow the game down. That video from vardymagic shows it all, Laird chip kicks it down to crouch out on the wing, who holds play up to kick it long down the line.

We should be taking risks, playing through the corridor and making sure our forwards are playing in front and we are hitting our lead up forwards on the lead, not making them take contested marks. Its a horrible game plan

Honestly shocked we haven't got a feel good video announcing Dowling's debut to the point where I'm worried the club is even dumber than I thought and are just gonna play Berry and Sholl for Murphy and Milera outs
Listening to Nick's presser, I doubt Dowling is coming in. Sounded like only "forced changes"...meaning Nankervis for Milera and Berry/Pedlar/McHenry for the Murphy role...

Could be wrong, and maybe he is keeping his cards close to his chest, but the whole tenor of the changes discussion was "we have some forced changes" to make...but nothing about rewarding the form at the SANFL level...

If that's the case, sack him tomorrow

Dowling deserves his chance we need to reward reserves form currently and not preseason form or form from two years ago

Yes but the forced change is due to injury which could pave way for a debutant. If that’s what he says we don’t know yet what he will do, having said that I don’t expect them to pick Dowling as Nicks is an idiot
