Do we actually have players that can run? And don't give me this Sholl garbage.

We are so devoid of run, especially from the backline and wings.

Guys that have the speed to actually lose their opponent to come up and take a mark or on offense run at defences to pull the opposition out of their shape.

As a slow and unskillful midfield, trying to pin point passes to contested situations is the worst possible outcome.

Who is there to actually to select though?

Hamill is quick but with deficiencies, Jones is quick, then there is the next crop. Michalanney is quick, whilsy Ryan, Edwards and Dowling move pretty well

Yep they're being coached to slow the game down. That video from vardymagic shows it all, Laird chip kicks it down to crouch out on the wing, who holds play up to kick it long down the line.

We should be taking risks, playing through the corridor and making sure our forwards are playing in front and we are hitting our lead up forwards on the lead, not making them take contested marks. Its a horrible game plan

There are no excuses this year, they can’t hide behind ‘inexperience’ and ‘rebuild’ anymore. I don’t think it’s a talent issue, that’s why this start is so frustrating.

I think it's partly a talent issue. We have not drafted or developed players well.

It's hard to fathom the decision to totally change our game plan from the free flowing attacking style that we saw last year to the slow stagnant style we are rolling out this year. How did they think that was a good idea??

You can tell the playing group is massively struggling with the change in game plan too, last year they had the freedom to attack and show flair. Now they all look confused and have to 2nd guess their first instinct which is to take the game on.

Nicks has reverted to this style in the past, it’s what he does when there’s pressure to perform. The reason we have started a full season like this is because the pressure to make finals has crushed Nicks. So he’s reverted to type.

Haven't looked at it again, so could be wrong, Dawson's first clearance off his wrong leg that wobbled out of bounds for a free against included burning a player in a better position to kick meaningfully forward. Looked like a player was about 5m away on the defensive side but would be under no pressure.

Looking like Dowling won’t play which is a joke. Gold Coast are debuting 3 players this weekend but we go for continuity consistently resulting in us having to watch the same spuds every week.
